By the end of September, Collingwood could be Premiers and Abbott P.M.

This makes me worried. Fair dinkum stop the boats I'm going for a run see youze later.

Just read headlines mate? get caught up in spin doctoring by the media and conservative politicians.?

More refuges and migrants come on board planes. Only a few desperate ones risk their lives, that of their children and their families to escape war and torture.

We had more boat people coming in the 70s than what we have now.

Would be rapt for a change in government. Can't stand Julia and her wasteful government.

Love it how fighting the worst financial meltdown in 70 odd years is suddenly a waste of money.

All the Libs - Abbott, Costello, Turnbull, Hockey - slammed Labor from day 1 for using their precious budget surplus to jumpstart an economy that was halfway over a cliff.

Surpluses are a good thing. You have to save for a rainy day.

But if you don't want to pull the stimulus trigger when the Cyclone Tracy of market failures swamps you, then what's the point of hoarding over a surplus? You may as well hand it all back, because after all its just money that's been stinged from our own pockets.

Love the way you hear big business and the finance sector whinge about governments trying to prop up their economies, scolding them for being fiscally irresponsible, when it was their own greed and dishonesty that very nearly broke the whole world economy! Who do you trust?

A Collingwood flag, Abbott as PM.... and Hey Hey to return later in the year.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Yes they do, but arrive here legally to start with, and don't pay PEOPLE SMUGGLERS shitloads to get here, and don't dispatch all forms of ID prior to arriving in AUS.

and how does a few thousand refugees impact on your life?

The also like to wait until recessions are well and truly over before they take office again.

Exactly!
Liberal governments ride the highs and avoid all the tough work.

The reason our country is is relatively good shape at the moment is largely due to Labor's economic reform of the 80's/90's, and to a slightly lesser extent the guts of Rudd/Swan/Tanner. They chose to actually do something about the situation they were in. Something that would never happen under a do-nothing, tory Liberal 'government'.

RE the Collingwood premiership...all for it!!!!

the current rollout of the national broadband network. Just for economic curiosity...

Broadband speeds in this country are pathethic and embarrising. I fully support the upgrading of broadband, through the national initiative. It will be paid partly by private enterprise and partly by the governmenmt and bring Australia into the 21st Century.

Bring it on, its the future.

It doesn't, but you need to draw the line somewhere. There are plenty that cant afford to pay PEOPLE SMUGGLERS, therefore have to wait a whole lot longer. Do you think that is fair?

Agree the people smugglers have to be stopped, but hell is it really a big issue in the scheme of things in Australia. The libs make such a big deal out of it and scare the general population into thinking half the world is coming here on boats, and ********s believe it.

Easy to have a budget surplus, just don't spend money and let schools, hospitals, infrastructure run into the ground. Eventually a Labour government comes along, spends like crazy to catch up what was neglected by the Libs and then the Libs have a great old time having a go at Labour, calling them big spenders and irreresponsible managers of the economy.

I think you will find that JG is starting to believe that stopping the boats is an issue as well.

We have to make a stand at some point. The whole boat issue is costing us TAXPAYERS a lot of money. That's our money being wasted on people who arrive here without our sayso.

If the shoe was on the other foot, I would hate to think of the consequences.

I'm a compassionate person, but hate being dictated to by people who fail to recognise the consequences of saying yes to everyone.

If Collingwood win the Flag and the mad Monk gets elected to lead the country , then it will be like the start of Armageddon.

I'd rather see the Pies win the next 3 flags than see our Country be set back 20 years by a joke of a politician.

this:thumbsu:

Seriously, why would anyone vote for a party that seeks to improve the conditions of the wealthy at the expense of the poor.

Maybe those that subscribe to the ideal that every Australian should have the opportunity to get rich as opposed to one that seeks to keep us all poor?

Would rather have Borat as Prime Minister and anyone other than Collingwood win the flag. (other than of course the Eagles but that won't happen for many many years by then maybe Borat will be PM.)

The majority of this thread is so far off topic it needs to move to Moo's board (or somewhere like that).

Fred's got the keys, so until then, closed.
