Afternoon All,

Roy has red (get it) the above posts with interest and has a few comments:

Firstly someone asked - would a full strength Reds reserves beat the tigers twos - answer yes. Justification - we smashed OC then had 16 changes prior to the Tigers game and got rolled by only 10 goals and the following week OC beat the tigers. Can't wait for the 2nd semi (reds 2's will finish 2nd)

Secondly - a lot of banter between various reds and ormond supporters. to those of us on the side of good, I offer this advice - don't bother with those that are inferior.

To those on the side of evil (in case you were wondering - thats CFE and co0horts) - see you in round 17 - Roy may just watch the Grand final replay from last year or better still the first tiem we met this year as a prelude to what will occur.

As previously stated Reds = Warnie, Ormond = Cullinan.

As for these weeks tips:

Osteitus Pubis v Orange County

The Giant should play this week after apparently resting last week (good move that one!) The sore groins are going to D grade and have nothing to play for. Teh giant may kick 15 playing on one of the large waisted ones frum bundoora - The OC by a mile

Vultures v Monders - local Boy will have his lads fired up as a win here will see them make the finals in Roys opinion (have hamtpn and OP to follow) Could also see the start of a disastrous finish to the year for the boys from the Gunn as lose the last 3 - Parkdale in a tight one

Tiger lillies v the Nobs - tipping against them hasn't worked so Red will go with the tiggies. Nobs were pretty shabby last week but they are in a dangersous position and will be hard to beat with their backs to the wall - can't see them enjoying the trip to the postage stamp by the sea at this time of the year though.

Hungry Jackas v Ruck Rovers - if the jackas turn up to play this will be ugly, but if they put in an effort akin to their performance at the Nobs anything could happen. Can't see it though - hungry jackas by about 15 goals

Reds v Students - I'll give you one guess who the Roy thinks will get the chocolates here. Students playing to stay in the 4 will be dangerous but they will not have enough at Brunswick Street, Reds by 8 goals.

Thankyou for your continued support

The Roy

As usual roy, you haven't disappointed us with your posts. I tend to agree with most of your tips but I reckon the redders will win by more. Monash haven't been in any sort of form and we all know their last away "effort". With many quality players back in the Reds line up, i willl go for 12 goals not 8.
Parky/Ormond could go either way but I too fancy Parky..just. Ormond seem to have struggled agaisnt any quality this year, particualry away.

My oil is the giant Won't be there for oc. Its a hamstring Roy and they take longer than a week. Still can't see them losing given the fine weather predicted and they have won several without him.
Tigers by plenty, ditto for Jackas.

Kane what's his face, the hyped forward from Uni Reds. Saw him last week at the COBBERY, and boy is he a front runner.

Is his only trick in the book the sit at the back of the pack and wait for the cheap handball over the top?

Certainly seems that way as his goals last week all came via that fashion. Contested marks = ZERO. I didn't realise VFL 2nds was that bad.

Tim Davis & Ronchi- they can play.

OC's will have Brent Christie back for sure ,for the clash at Garvey Oval. Unfortunately he will replace another quality midfielder who has a 'hammy' twinge. Speaking of hammy's ,David Loats is only a marginal possibility this weekend.

OC's should have enough to win a game without himbut it may well be a close call.

Good Luck to all players.

Finally a largely unchanged line up this week down at Brunswick - should see a comfortable defeat of the students, whilst I can forsee a thrashing being dealt out by the 2's.

Looking forward to hearing about Parky's win over Ormond, which will soften them up nicely for the BIG clash the following week.

Also, I feel there may be some fireworksout at the Parade v OC clash. Its no secret that the boys from Garvey (albeit resigned to D Grade) hate OC with a passion and will be pulling out all stops to dent their finals chances. The game may be somewhat more even given there will be NO large (read : Loats) shadows cast from the goal squares at Garvey.

Board Odds I'll lay...ah the great man 'Ray Boundy' fielding at Caulfied calling the prices and anything else...not like these computer nerds who stand around like stunned mullet these days...bring back the real bookie!!

Battle for Bronze playoff:

Ormond 4/6
Vultures 4/5
Blues - Evens
OC 5/4
Reds - 3/1

Battle for survival (odds are for the team to be relegated)

Parade - 2/7
Rovers - 4/6
NOBS - 4/5
Reds - Evens
Others - 10/1

This weeks games market sees:

SBMT 1/10 vs NOBS 4/1 - almost fav out betting here
AJAX 2/7 vs Rovers 5/2 - foamers to win again
Vultures Evens vs Monders 4/6 - Monders won easily last time and should win but the margin will be closer
Parade 5/4 vs OC's - 4/6 - Parade may be value but OC's with Loats should win
Reds Evens vs Students 4/6 - At home Reds can win but Blues have lot a stake a win is a must.

Looking for value appears difficult on paper with two games non betting propostions...maybe the Reds are value depending on their line up and if the track watcher suggests Loats is out maybe Parade can pull out something..maybe water the track and bring OC's back to their speed!

RCT
****,
Dont mind those odds on Parky, only need to win 2 of last 3 and play the 2 bottom sides, should finish third.
Ormond should win at least 1 of there last 3 either Parky or more than likey the Reds, but none are easy.
If Reds can get over Ormond away they can make it.

Parky 1/5
Ormond 2/7
Reds evens
Monash 3/1
OC 5/1

Not only are they up themselves, I too have found them a prick of a club, but then again they love to be hated. I was involved with them for awhile and left when my sons and I were treated like s**t
Someone's a bit bitter, what couldn't you or your sons get a game? Must be pretty ordinary then!

We're the Collingwood of C Grade, good, you either love us or hate us. who cares what anyone else thinks of us. Especially you.

Wow....so much angst out there in C Section Cyberland this week...and the Ormond vs Reds game isn't til next week...Gus Mercurio coming out of retirement to referee the game has been rumoured...

Phone are running hot today with much interest in weekends games..punters seem cashed up and ready to part with their hard earned...I'll frame more markets next week including a Grand Final quinella and Competion Best and Fairest player chart.

Just remember guys...at the end of the day it is just red leather bag filled with air.

RCT,

I agree with you, i'm not firing up, I just don't like it when someone who thinks he knows our club, or has an opinion such as his (Phantom Strobler), bags us with all his claims of payments etc...

Whatever, he needs to get over whatever "issues" he may have, move on, if they were any good then i'm sure like any club they are played. They probably play for some SFL Divvy 2-3 club now...

acording to some close sources in the north, 21 large pizzas were delivered to old paradians last night.... before training....

Think you forgot the rather large amount of Dim Sims that were also consumed followed by diet cokes all round as they are watching their weight!!!

Crunch time boys. We need RCT and others to do a comprehensive analysis of the teams to tell us how close to full strength this weekends teams were. Next two weeks are make or break. We need to know where the comp is at before we lay our bets............Red, Do you have another 14 changes to come? Tigers just roll along. They can't get any better surely. Parky is there anyone left... Where was Big Jack last week. What about the Jackers, Ormond and the rest of the field?

If you had a clue QC, we actually thumped Parkdale by 15 goals in Rd 7 & lost the following 2 against Reds & SBMT.

For a team to come up from D1 & be in the top 3-4 teams in C section for most of the following year obvously shows improvement.

I suppose your a deluded Reds follower, got your head so far up your own asses you fail to think that any other team outside Brunswick St can be any good.

Lets just have a little look at where the mighty monds have actually come from shall we. A ...woops...B....woops .......C....woops....D.....smashed in a GF and back to C and whats this I read" in the four for most of the year" sounds like Ormond are conceding their spot already.....woops here we go again,

better beat Parkdale

As I've alluded to before, I think there is a fundamental problem down there that needs to be addressed.

How can anyone there "play for the jumper"?

Win, lose or draw over the next three weeks, the one constant is that it is just an awful, awful jumper...

Oh, and one other thing - they hate kids.

When they played at Brunswick Street they walked right through the middle of three or four Auskick clinics, bringing them to a standstill. When asked to get out of the way, they politely responded by telling those dads (who give up their time to teach little kids how to play) to f@#* off...

Charming.

Hey BBS ..... CFE was there that day....hope he stayed for the main game they actually had a crack for a quarter

Rather than question the fitness, maybe question the mentality of a coach who get sone of their best flankers to tag an opposition 'backman'. Not only does this happen regularly, but the tagger is told to be totally negative, so Parade already are down one player effectively.. very defensive minded.

I've noticed that across a lot of teams - they stop playing to win, and instead concentrate on not losing. It never works unless you're already ten goals in front with a quarter of an hour to go.

Look at Essendon last night - tried to hold onto the lead and ten minutes later Collingwood had it. Reverted to attacking football and they won.

why do the Ammos continue to turn a blind eye to the group of guys who drink under the tree on the far forward flank at Ormond.

enough is enough.

I just read this on the Vafa site :
OLD PARADIANS 8.11-59 OLD CAMBERWELL 19.13-127
PARKDALE VULTURES 14.10-94 ORMOND AFC 22.16-148
ST BEDES/MENTONE TIG 22.19-151 NOB/ST PATS COLL 8.15-63
AJAX AFC 16.15-111 HAMPTON ROVERS 11.15-81
FITZROY REDS 14.13-97 MONASH BLUES 9.8-62

Which looks surprising similar to my tips :
OP v OC
Parkdale v Ormond
StBM v NOBS
AJAX v Hampton
Reds v Monash

:thumbsu:

Reds reserves had a huge win. U19s won but both clubbies lost including aspies which bombed out of the 1st semi to the tune of a 1 pt loss :(

But I believe the Reds seniors are now pretty safe from relegation.

Incorrect. It was 16.16.112 to 11.14.80, according to my source. I wonder when it will be fixed up?

Excellent game for three quarters, Hampton really took it to Ajax and had a significant lead that Ajax only clawed back in the third. Last quarter was all the Jackas, Rovers only managed five behinds. Injuries and tiredness were the alleged culprits.

Great Tipping four 2/1 on winners and the Reds salute for you at last.....awesome display by you Mobs. Reds can't go down a grade ,but mathematically can still go up. Tigers have them all covered. I heard a very strong rumour from the Lord Newry Hotel that Fitzroy Reds coach Bergs is prepared to put $1000 on the bar at Hampton next week if they can knock off Parkdale....2 games to go and all roads lead to Ormond for next Saturday.I'd rub the whiteboard off Thursday night if I was Dave Matthews

Exciting time of the season with a number of clubs futures resting in the hands of others. How close to full strength will the respective sides be for next weeks rounds?
