Hump day today, so methinks we should look to Saturday's matches with keen interest.

Old Carey -v- Monash Blues
Big margin for this one.. S. Collo (there best player should be back?). This could get messy. Carey by alot

Mazenod -v- Rupertswood
Rupo to quick on the big ground..

Parkdale -v- Whitefriars
could go either way, ill tip Parkdale cause their at home

Old Camberwell -v- NOBSPC
The barker show to continue, bad signs for them, if the can not win without the twin towers dominating. OC will win....

Fitzroy Reds -v- Ormond
Ormond to beat reds. Reds to come the realisation they are nothing, but a bunch of mentally soft second rate footballers. Only things against ormond is they played a tough game of football last week, while the reds played in a very very poor game. GO ormond to win

Had to wait until someone picked the same as me, My tips ,,,,,what he said.

Guru or any Parkdale person, must have a lot of new players because I only knew half the players named on the VAFA website that played in the 1st,,, Where are the Knight boys?

C - Section - a bit abusive towards the Red Boys old fella. Is someone a little jealous of our recent success?

Here is the great mans tips:

Carey v Blues - another hiding for the hapless students

Mazenond v Rupo - will be hard to beat at Sunbury and Mazenod won't do it

Parky v Friars - Friars just (sorry guru)

The OC v the Nobs - a bit of ex AFL talent running around in this game with the OC far too strong. Will be interesting to see how they go against quality oppositon when they play it

Reds v Ormond - it does get a bit boring smashing the poor old two blues, but it is always a lot of fun !! a 10 goal thumping coming up for the Roy boys.

That is all

The Red

Went to see the Reds Ormond game as a neutral observer to see what all the fuss was about. Had to leave at the 20 minute mark of he last quarter with Ormond 9 goals in front dishing out a good old fashioned pantsing. Anybody playing Ormond this year, underestimate them at your own peril.

Win or lose i will always give a brief summary on Saturday night as i enjoy my beer. Rupo had a great win, were 54 points up at 1/2 time ran out winners by 63pts. Good to have 2 wins up both away, can say the Nodders had a shocker and don't think they could play that poorly again in 2007. Our first half was exceptional, where as the second half was riddled with skill errors from both sides. The game sought of petered out with the Nodders disappointed and Rupo establishing themselves as competitive in "C" Grade.

I rated Ormond last week and they proved today they are serious contenders for 2007.

Well done! This looks like 5 from 5!!

Sausage, I heard an amazing stat tonight re the Old Camberwell vs COBS game. Free kick telly was COBS 41 to OC 9, and still they lost by 70 odd points. Benny Goodman can expect a call form one POSH on Monday I would think.

Can't believe they only paid fifty in total, seemed more like one a minute.
Made the game stop/start and decidely ugly.Players were stupified by some decisions and the fiasco with 5 men in the centre square was a classic.
Fortunately players from both sides kept their cool for most of what was a frustrating day for all concerned.

On a brighter note was the scoreline for OC. Would have been much closer if JB has played and NOBS lost another one Sat. morning so they looked similiar to the Friars from where I sat.

Looks like Rupo have 'pinged' the lids if the Ormond form line is anything to go on.Things will become clearer in the next fortnight I reckon.

The Reds... Ha what a joke... They are rubbish...

Will not even trouble the finals, if their last 2 weeks is any form to go by. If they didn't have Davis they would be in BIG strife...

Great win by the 'Monds. 7 Goals with 20 blokes for most of the game... :thumbsu:

Greentree i guess you mean the kight brothers? tim isn't playing this year because he is injured. max isnt playing football at all but hopefully will come around now the season has started.

a lot of the ones that played last week were up from the 19s last year.

Yeah looked like an ugly scoreline, Reserves were something similar?

I believe, last year, something similar happened the first time we's played each others? :p [/denial]

Who was on songest for Ormond, CFE?

HEY!, No-one commented when I got 5/5 the first round :(

And its good to see everyone's starting to say Ormond and Rupo are both fair sides ... when are my royalties arriving?

<-------------- :)

Credit where credit is due, Ormond played well. The minister for defence needs to be in defence for mine and not forward.

word is the reds are not happy with ormonds antics off the ball. was there a bit going on or are the reds through their complaints exposing a soft underbelly?

Yeah true Mobbs, it was all tongue in cheek, I know the Reds have had the wood over us for a while, it's good to finally get 2 wins on the trot against the Reds...

In the ressies, we won by 7pts, low scoreline due to rain most of the day...

Millsy is a machine, he was everywhere yesterday & Chisholm bagged 5 or 6 in a good display.

Reds had no-one prepared to go with Miller and, frankly, when left to his own devices, he's still the most damaging player in Ormond's line-up.

Whilst the Reds were missing 4 key runners, they were never in the hunt after half way through the 2nd term, and Ormond fully deserved their win.

The trek to Sunbury awaits, and I hear the coaching staff have promised to not hold back, planning some very solid nights on the track in the next few weeks!!

Considering whats being said by the Reds Boys in the last 3 months, I am suprised there is not more on here about there dissapointing display???

Great win by the Parky boys though!!!

I was there too & I agree with you totally CFE, the Reds were a rabble on Saturday. We cannot blame the influx of new players for our loss, Ormond were much better organised & direct with the ball. The Redders played with no confidence & no forward line (bar TD). Overall, a very disappointing first home game for the season.

Still, it's probably good to get a thumping like that in round 2 to determine exactly where we are at. We can see where we got smashed on Saturday & move forward. Finals don't look likely after Saturday, but then again the same thing was said a month ago about North Melbourne. Go Redders!

Nothing in it all, the game was played in very good spirits. Ormond have the hard bodies in their line up to "legally" put pressure on & sadly the Reds don't have the enforcers to take up the challenge.

Where are Chopper and Santos the Magnificent when we need them?!

surley Td forward is the problem. Rawlins forward and TD back to defence for mine.

Td is a state player whose reputation was forged in defence.

Sounds like the reds are already beginning reveal similar traits to last season - TD a champ, on ballers hard running only in one direction, & too many players who take their eye off the footy.

Great win by the 'Monds on Saturday, Old Carey will be a test this weekend at the Gunn.

A few inclusions still to come back in to the team also...

Great win by Rupo again as well
