Agree, but if the tables were turned, I wouldn't begrudge Richmond sending a player to the PSD without a favorable deal.
Despite what many of my fellow supporters think, the psd is there to help the bottom clubs get us contracted players without giving up anything in return.
Wouldn’t have begrudged north for doing it at all.
it is what it’s there for after all.

Disagree.
Jack Martin via PSD. carlton screwed GC.
Treloar to dogs for pick 50 equivalent screwed Pies. Say what you like about those situations but clubs get screwed.

Jackson Hately is the most similar example. Crows offered pick 40 to GWS, when they didn’t need to. Crows said take it or leave it as we have pick one in the PSD.

NM will do the same thing, with a late pick.

how are you throwing up Treloar example? Collingwood screwed themselves 😂

North will take CCJ & pick44 for Tarrant & pick20. Both clubs are pretty reasonable when it comes to fair trading no matter what people say on here.

I don't think you're familiar with how cut throat Brady Rawlings is. Pick 20 will be off the table.

The reason this theory falls apart is the alternate scenario where Tarrant triggers Band 5.

Tarrant goes for free to Richmond and if he triggers compo then North get Pick 39. CCJ could also come across free via PSD.

So the trade may look like Tarrant = CCJ + pick 39 for North without them doing anything or trying to screw anyone.

Why would they walk away from this one and be generous.

Gee some of the north supporters actually thinking ccj for Tarrant is an option lol
Ccj is worth 15-20 contracted, 25-30 uncontracted. I don’t understand how you guys have been valuing him at nothing (pick 69) that’s just insulting to ccj, a young kkp whose READY to play consistent AFL footy. Richmond will ask for a Fair offer knowing you have the psd option up your sleeve, probably 38 which is unders but am hoping to upgrade one of our 2nds. And no Tarrant ain’t getting you a compo pick and won’t cancel out chols either
PSD 1....
Is and has been through this whole scenario North's Trump card. In this situation they are the beneficiaries of finishing last.

If we were dealing with St Kilda for example this plays out a lot differently in our favour.

Let it go mate. Blair Hartley isn't going to drag Taz through a trade negotiation after already offering him a contract.

Also, 9 games in four years and still not best 22. 38 is fine for CCJ.
No, he would prefer to pick him up in trade week. Just like North would prefer to do with CCJ.

We wont want to wait for North to delist Tarrant and pick him up as a DFA.

Both sides wont posture like some of the posters in this thread. It will be done first week of trade week, amicably and fairly.

If it was up to supporters North would go straight to the PSD with no negotiation. They wouldn’t even pick up the phone. You should be thankful for 38. 20 is greedy.
And if were up to Richmond fans we would ask Tarrant to not sign a contract and pick him up as a DFA once his contract ran out, so as not to cost us a draft pick from Chol compo if Tarrant was going to get compo.

We don’t even want Tarrant, taking him is just a warning to north to trade wisely with us over CCJ or next year it will be Thomas or McKay we come for. Tread very carefully little kangaroos, you’re playing with the big boys now.
Que? you're giving a 2 year deal to a KPD coming off a serious illness for the sake of sending messages? Smoke signals or carrier pigeons would be cheaper

Why is that learned one?
Go onto the draftguru.com.au and look up the picks swaps.

Every time a pick is downgrade you get 25-50% more points.

The only time when a trade is about the same points is where you have one downgrade and one upgrade traded for a upgrade and a downgrade.

Therefore, the points system underrates high picks and overrated lower picks.

You are taking the piss right?

Would Richmond be interested in a straight swap CCJ for Polec? Could Polec fill a need off half back after Houli’s retirement?
Most of Polecs deal was supposedly front ended. Targeting Tarrant means Richmond are still looking to top up and chase another flag?
Also gets Polec off the books for North and more games into the kids?
Could be win-win and better than North offering pick 38 for CCJ?

It’s amazing how the last week has been about CJ jumping off a sinking ship to up and comer, yet one of their club legends is jumping ship for success

never change BF
Don’t think any North fans think CCJ is jumping a sinking ship. On the contrary, he has moved somewhere for a more nailed on role, whilst Tarrant has gone to Richmond for a possible tilt at a premiership.

It’s the reality for both. No need to start a nonexistent war between both sets of fans

haha go back and read some of your fellow posters posts mate.

I guess every fan base has some delusional people. I mean some of your fans think you’re getting pick 20 for CCJ. Case in point
Actually that’s what they want, don’t think anyone thinks we will get it though

Why would North help out the Tigers by throwing Tarrant into a trade with 38? They can just trade 38 on its own and not give an opponent a leg up
If it were to happen, it would be because Richmond wouldn't be offering Tarrant enough to receive compo. If North were going to lose him anyway and not get any FA compo, it would make sense for it to be part of this trade as it would work better for both parties.

How does it work better for North even in the situation? They can just give 38 on its own. They don't need to help Richmond protect their compo even if it doesn't change anything for themselves
