Agree, but if the tables were turned, I wouldn't begrudge Richmond sending a player to the PSD without a favorable deal.
Despite what many of my fellow supporters think, the psd is there to help the bottom clubs get us contracted players without giving up anything in return.
Wouldn’t have begrudged north for doing it at all.
it is what it’s there for after all.

He did say he thought he would stay in a press conference - What would you expect him to say?

"Blindsided" isn't a term I would personally use for a 33 year old that has decided to use his FA rights.
He was a lot stronger than that though, he said he couldn't imagine Tarrant playing for another club and he won't be going anywhere. You obviously expected him to be there and even more so when North increased his contract from one to two years to match the Richmond offer.

A rumour has been doing the rounds over the weekend that North are interested in Bigoa Nyuon also and that if a trade is required for Tarrant, he may form part of it.

Whether North are interested separately is another question.

Very hard to judge this kid due to lack of 2nd tier football, but he is extremely athletic. Maybe similar to Lever (albeit less overall quality) in that he is a tall, lean & fast KPD.

Not sure I'd want RFC to trade him out TBH. He's very raw and has only been on our list for 2 highly interrupted years. I'd be wanting them to play Biggie + Miller a bit more.

Makes sense. North have a hole in their defence and he could be guaranteed games. They need to support Mackay and their stocks are rather thin after him. They seem to be blindsided by Tarrants decision, so they will need to find cover.

Biggie hasn’t really shown anything due to COVID impacting the VFL, but I’ve got no doubt North admire our recruiting and development and would back him in to give him games in 2022.

Lol, I'm not sure I'd say we admire your recruiting and development, he may simply be someone we fancied in 2019 that they think is gettable.

Its funny that the CCJ for Tarrant straight swap hasnt been something that is genuinely being discussed in the media.

If you look at it from a holistic point of view, here are the breakdowns

Option 1 - Tarrant for CCJ straight swap:

Richmond out: CCJ, Chol
Richmond in: Tarrant, Pick 37 (Chol compo)

Option 2: Tarrant in as a free agent

Richmond Out: CCJ, Chol
Richmond in: Tarrant, Pick 38

Cant be any more simply broken down than that. Obviously with CCJ a PSD chance, North may not be keen on this.

I think we'd be more likely to get a 3rd than an end of second for Chol but happy to be proven wrong.

I'd probably go with the attached as keeps an extra pick for North and we would also prefer to trade up than get another pick I believe.

Richmond In Tarrant, Pick 20 and Pick 45 (Chol compo)
Richmond Out CCJ, Pick 28

I think Richmond has about as much chance of getting pick #1 as getting pick #20.

Simply isn't happening, in any scenario. #20 is a valuable pick in this draft given how even the pool is from around 8-25

North is guaranteed to get one of the WA talls at #20.

So 28 and CCJ for Tarrant and 20?

Cant see North going for that

Lol unsure of how many times it needs to be said that North aren't trading pick 20 before Richmond supporters stop suggesting it.

7, ccj, future first

For 1

Win-win?

:)

Happy with 38 and Tarrent for CCJ as a tigers fan, have to be reasonable...pick 20 or a future 2nd aint happening. I hope that North are reasonable and don't make him walk to the PSD

It wont be 38 + Tarrant for CCJ.

It will be 38 for CCJ, or it will be Tarrant for CCJ.

We are still a chance to get compo for Tarrant too, as Hawthorn got compo for smith who was the same age. We arent gonna throw that away when pick 38 is bang on what CCJ is worth.

Brady Rawlings is ruthless.. sorry..

I don't know what you are looking for in the draft but if its one of the WA talls then I can see why you'd think they wouldn't want to give it up.

Only thing smith has on Tarrant is his age and prob the same 2 year offer. He’s not injury prone like smith wasnt and wouldn’t of finished that high in bnfs as a result of that. Hence why I think he doesn’t get u guys a compo pick or wouldn’t cross out our pick either
