Carling Cup Final: Arsenal v Birmingham City

Was talking to a mate who goes for Chelsea just before. We both agree it was the greatest finish to an Arsenal match ever. :D

Was clearly the defender's fault. That's the keeper's ball every single time. One hell of a brain fade.

Would have been outstanding if Martins managed to put it over the bar. Would have made my week. Well, more so than it already has.

If you don't understand soccer the get the f**k outta here try hard. You probarly one of those who bought a soccer boots and broke your ankle the first time you had a run.lol Try the netball threads instead.Lmao @ arsenal supporters, you probarly get confused between arsenal and any red shirted team.

The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

Gee, and then along came Chelsea, just to top your week off.

Don't really think its fair for Koscielny to take the blame completely.. The team (Arsenal) were pretty bad overall, you could tell they were overconfident. The mentality of the arsenal players (especially the fringe players) is very questionable. Rosicky was dreadful.

To me though, its just another loss, I'd much rather win the EPL or UCL. As long as Arsenal continue to play entertaining football, then I'm a happy supporter.

I wish they were overconfident. They wouldn't have been that sloppy with their passes especially in the first 30 mins.

Bunch of bottlers ... simple.

Why do you expect a player to care about something hes put no effort into? It goes into what I was saying about starting those who got you too the final. Clichy/Song/Sagna and co did ABSOLUTELY nothing to get you too the final. They strain themselves more on the toilet bowl then they do in getting your team to the Carling Cup final yet you expect them to play like there lives are on the line for the one game they do play

In a nice la di dah world that occurs but this is real life. A player whose played 1 game in a competition he doesnt care about wont put in the same effort as someone from Birmingham whose playing in the biggest game of the season for him.

If Denilson starts he puts in the effort. Its his biggest game of the season so far and by quite some distance. For Alex Song its just another stroll on the park on a nice Sunday arvo

i totally disagree with that. these are professional footballers we are referring too, they play, train, travel, prepare etc as a full time profession, and playing in cup finals etc is what players (should) live for

you shouldnt need to be involved in the qualification games to have the desire/motivation to perform in the final. the club had the opportunity for team success and regardless who put on the shirt, they should treat it just the same

would've, could've, should've ... but didn't have the passion. You may be right, but the point still stands ... one team clearly wanted it more.

You sound a bit simple.

Who is out of focus here???you talking about dreams and hopes and i'm talking about how arsenal got served with their overconfident and lack of tactical decisions. You need a hobby buddy....Playing expert in things you don't know about won't get you far in this life.lol

The latter would still be more effective.

He's been rubbish in games against lower league opposition so you think he'd tear it up against Birmingham?

Song was Worst on Ground by some margin and probably played the worst game of his season to date from what ive seen. Denilson isnt as talented as Song but I guarantee he would of put in more effort and performed better than Song did on the day. Atleast he would of tried.
