I had high hopes for Callan. Looked like a good size and neat skills. Just didn't quite pan out.
So did I, he was quite athletic and played taller than he was. It was a bad time to be a young player on our list, we offloaded a hell of a lot. Either poor drafting but most likely poor development and the poor club we were about to become.

Sophie McKay dominated in the Academy game today kicking 3 goals.

Are the daughter drafting rules same as the boys?
A bit different. She's definitely tied to us. Fathers only have to play one game.

Explanation from last year about bid matching...

What a disgrace that rule is. 100 games for AFL, 1 for AFLW.

It's an interim measure to bring an influx of footy bloodlines straight into the sport. Given the way players are changing clubs and picks are being frittered away on bizarre assessments, what does it matter.

It will change over time, and we'll also see mother-son and mother-daughter rules put in.

Absolutely disagree, until the game is 100% professional players have to want to move states, choose AFLW over other sport, work or education opportunities.

Why put another block in the way of seeing family continuity when most of these players would earn more by working full time at McDonald's?
