Easy. Rate all the kids - 1 through 88 or whatever it is. If we rate him at 54, we only take him with our 4th pick, no higher. If someone tries to play games by offering a late second, and we'd have to give up our third (40ish) then we say no deal and let them have him for two years.

The safest way to play it is by the numbers, that way nobody is making a line call on it, and everyone is clear beforehand on what the potential outcomes are.

So, is it true?

Carlton launches Father-Son Academy

The Carlton Football Club is proud to launch the Peter DeanFather-Son Academy, which aims to connect, develop and support the sons of former Carlton players.
The Academy has been the vision of Carlton’s General Manager of List Management and Strategy Stephen Silvagni, who has been working to bring it to life since returning to Carlton.
“Carlton’s Father-Son Academy is about creating a sense of belonging,” Silvagni said.

Dumb question, how is the Peter Dean Father-Son Academy different to the existing Father-Son programme the club has been running for a number of years?

Geez Fizz, can't you read!

Now it's the Peter Dean Father-Son Academy. There's now between 50 and 67% more words in the name depending on how you categorise hyphenated compound words.

Would've though it was pretty obvious...

how many games we gave him.

Unfair.

Dean Rice was an important part of the team and excellent in his position before back pocket players were the designated rebound 50 specialists.

Even then his ability to mark either intercept of contested was reasonable, and you could count on him for solid link up play.

1995 was not a carried year either. He wasn't the most effective in the Grand Final (didn't need to be in the end), but he did contribute 21 goals throughout the season from only 19 of 25 games played.

Dean Rice. Underrated!
