Carlton Guilty?

Yeah, doubt that they are going to have this years picks 1 & 2 taken away from them though.

A couple of clubs have already kicked up a fuss, mainly Richmond because that would mean they let go pick no2 instead of no4.

Cant understand the logic myself, whats done is done and every club (besides Carlton) stands to benifit from Carlton losing their first 2 picks.

I think they are all sh*t scared of the roos getting leg up because they all know we can dominate the league for a decade or so when a few things fall our way.

as if you wouldn't trade the no.2 draft pick for quality like kane johnson if you had the opportunity! i mean seriously, he wants to play for your team, he is a brilliant midfielder, twice premiership player and is still only 26...and who looks like his injuries are a thing of the past....

i don't care what they say they should definately get their picks taken away from them......then carlton will be perenial cellar dwellers for the next half of the century

What news service was that on? I had posted on the Carlton board quite a few weeks ago that the AFL would have to notify Carlton before the trade period commenced if it was going to take (for example) picks 1 & 2 off them.

With Andrew Demetriou on holidays until Monday, and the investigation still running, i'd be interested in where the news service got their story..

The Blues will lose their 3rd/4th (???) round picks from a suspended sentence from their previous salary cap breaches. I can't see the AFL having the balls to take away both their first two picks (for one thing, they wouldn't fancy taking on Carlton, Richmond, and Collingwood in a legal stoush), but it wouldn't surprise me if they took away just one of their first two picks. It's still a harsh penalty, but it also takes off some of the edge from Collingwood and Richmond's complaints (only 1 position lost in the draft rather than 2).

Richmond and other clubs complaining makes alot of sense. Regardless of the trades done, Richmond would prefer that Carlton keep their 2 first round picks and get the 2 best youngsters in the game, rather than allow them to be penalised for the breaches they have done.

l can just see it, in a few years, we may have a carlton v richmond Grand Final and Daniel Wells kicks the winning goal after the siren. You think the tigers would look back and see how stupid their lobbying was.

l can appreciate they might not have done the deal for a number 2 pick, but you can only deal with the info you have at that point in time. Richmond prefer us to get less and Carlton to get away with their sins.

Go figure!

If anything happens it will be a heafty fine, picks 1 & 2 and there preseason pick or a heafty fine, lose preseason picks and next years 1st round draft picks.

Bloody cheats!
