Best quote for me:

“There was (Lachie) Henderson, basically that’s Harry McKay. There’s Chris Yarran, that’s David Cuningham. There’s Zach Tuohy, that’s Caleb Marchank. There’s Bryce Gibbs, really two first-round picks … there was also Tom Bell when we traded him out, that helped us get Charlie (Curnow).”

Even the most biased anti Carlton person would see a remarkable difference between the 'journalist' narrative and SOS's responses. of course wont make any difference to those who are naturally inclined to troll - which is part of the whole tribal thing that AFL has going on.

I particularly enjoyed ( if that is the right word) the palpable dislike that Loyd and SOS have for each other - couldn't help but have the feeling that SOS would like nothing more than to line up against Loyd and run through him a few times - literally.

The Cripps signing is a big deal for the Club right now - fingers crossed - because Caro was doing her level best to fan any doubts that Cripps might have - she obviously is not alone....

I found the interaction between Lloyd and SOS very amusing, Lloyd was timid and scared and tried to be the big boy asking questions and SOS sat him down on his rear so quickly you could see him quiver away. Reminded me of playing days and why i grew up with a big poster of SOS on my bedroom wall. First time i have been proud to be Carlton in a very long time.

We all get a too invested in the general vibe on this forum at times. I think SOS made it clear to anyone that was listening that rebuilds take time and injuries have made this a very very tough year for the coach.

He was also clearly very angry at the rubbish being printed by Caro - pointedly SOS told her straight up that he had nothing to do with Trigg situation and in fact owed his job at Carlton to Trigg - no comment from here on this and many other points.

As for Loyd he is just embarrassing isn't he?

SOS knows Lloydy out of his depth speaking on list managing.

I loved Llyody absolutely shitting himself right at the end with "I'm sure you've got plenty yourself" in reference to conflicts in footy SOS was like yeh yeh I smashed you back then and I just smashed you now you little wuss! SOS was so comfortable in his chair lounging back etc he knew he had their measure. Great stuff!

This one is not so rosy. Troll asking for a sacking of everybody. All our players are spuds and we should trade out and start again. Numptey.
Yep, had a read of that, left a lengthy comment at the bottom.

I actually don't mind the statistics approach, but the outcomes of it and the general tone suggest he went looking for reasons why we're losing instead of examining the situation in its context, and examining the decisions based on what the other options were.

Still, you almost need to applaud whenever someone uses an actual argument backed up with evidence on that website, as it doesn't happen very often.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

They tried shutting up and getting on with the job in hand. Then the media hounded them for staying silent.
SOS was the wrong person. He does not like Lloyd(can't blame him for that) and let him know why when he spoke about relationships.
Should have had McKay or the CEO front up. SOS and Bolton are not good media performers.

I disagree. There's no reason the list manager should be hidden from the media. If they aren't good media performers then get someone in there that can help them.

Watching the interview again shows the amount of cursory analysis these media types undertake on the footy issues of the day.

Not surprised with Lloyds performance because he is trying to be Robert Walls but without the smarts or footy experience.

Caro's performance surprised me because she just didn't anticipate how SOS might come back to her. Her display might be the reason she is no longer the Age footy editor.

Really glad that SOS mentioned again how the members have been informed all the way along. For those who haven't been getting that message then join up.

I loved it.
It was like they didn't understand or take in what SOS was telling them
That's because they did not and why Lloyd will make the same mistakes in future whenever he comments of club list management strategies. He never learnt from his dumb thoughts on Dogs a few years ago SOS touched on the other about GWS too. Caro have no expectation of ever getting it. Lloyd has no excuse though. His brother is a list manager. You would think he would have some insight on real list management but he scores a D every time.

They look ready to start messing up some peoples finals plans.
Not saying they will start losing now. But Kane will target Fagan in the future if the opportunity presents itself. He is like the majority of these media types in that they focus on the low hanging fruit.

He is an example that we don't have enough quality media types for the amount media being created. Perhaps football journalist should be added to the list of occupations on the 457 visa list.

Everyone is a list manager expert when you get to look back on what could have been, just ask Terry.

To be fair. Least Wallace puts thought into it. He shits all over Lloyd types as a commentator about list and team management areas of football clubs.

Personally, as a supporter, I needed to hear that interview. I no longer have unwavering faith in the club, and it is naive to not believe this year has raised legitimate concerns.

Bolts' pressers have by in large been disappointing this year, giving supporters cliches instead of honesty.

The honesty of SOS was refreshing and the resolution in his delivery galvanising. **** the critics, we've got this.

I agree, although TBH as much as I loved his defiant position I still have major concerns about the amount of excuses and outs Bolton, SOS & LoGo are publicly giving the players for what have been unacceptable level of performance. I just hope behind closed doors that they are fully aware that it is not okay, regardless of injuries & age demographic.. Attitude and willingness to compete should not matter.
