Was stuck in meetings all day…

Not worried about results, it’s only a practice game… Glad to hear new recruits Elijah and Ashton played well…

Did anyone notice any changes to the way we want to play? Or areas we have built on from last year?

We were definitely trying to slingshot out of stoppages and take the ball forward. A real intent to get the ball in quicker to our forward line. The only problem was it just felt clunky at times. But thats what this was... a chance to practise what they have been trying at training and start to refine things... see what worked well and and what didnt. I think a big factor was the amount of rotating players through positions. But it was HOT and I assume players minutes were being manged above all else (no risk of injuries the priority). The only issue being the lack of continuity as a result. But there was definitely some nice passages of play and some good signs.

Vintage Cuners. A moment or 2 to get your hopes up but overall doesn't quite deliver.
Love the talent that Cunners has. Just doesn't appear desperate enough to become the player he should be and make a real difference to our midfield. That's ok from his perspective but disappointing from a team perspective

There is still time for Cunners to show his best, but time as always, is on the march.

Horrible day for a footy match but good prep for the likely warmer conditions in Brisbane. Sounded like we were trying to extract the rust today. Good to see that we have sustained no injuries and a group of players have had a decent hitout. Sounded like practice match effort circa 1981.

That particular Cunners story is so old I'm sure it was left out of the Bible.
The time has long since passed for plodding - He really needs to get desperate or get out.

Have not watched the game … how did tdk go …I don’t want to hear he needs another year under pitto ??
I watched the replay when i got home from work, i thought he was amongst our better performed players on the day, competed really well in the ruck and worked hard across the ground, although the cats midfielders seemed to get a better first use to the contested hit outs more cleanly by being positioned at times along with their reading of the tragectory of the taps in general…
Played well…

I might have missed it but is there a list of our outs for this game (best 22)?
Jacob Weitering
Jack Martin
Zac Williams
Sam Walsh
Matthew Kennedy
Caleb Marchbank
Marc Pittonet
Matthew Owies
Corey Durdin
Sam Durdin
Jack Silvagni

All of the above missed - not sure what the consensus is on best 22.

Not sure we can include or rely on Sam Durdin unfortunately as a B22 player, he is continually injured and just can’t or hasn’t provided any concrete reason by preformance to hang our hats on…
I like what I’ve seen of him in a few performances as a reserves player, i know he has been mentioned as holding his own against Harry and co in match sims, but he just seems to be another potential player who’s body keeps letting him down…

Durdin just depth in case of injuries. Not in the top 30 let alone 23

He moved around the ground like a good ruckman should, and although he still makes a few mistakes I reckon he’s ready to become a gun ruckman of the competition this year.

The first 4 are definite, the rest are all in that traffic jam of players who could be.

Felt like Crippa went unnoticed today and should be talked about more

Feel like it’s very easy to tell when Rick will have a good year based off his preseason

2022, was amazing that preseason, didn’t feel it last year. Obvs a preseason game but be moved really really well today and showed his brilliant self on a couple occasions

I expect AA for the skippa this year
