Assuming they get Judd, how is this for a midfield!

Nick Stevens - Port Adelaide - Shouldn't be there.
Heath Scotland - Collingwood - Should have been traded to Port for Stevens.
Andrew Carazzo - Geelong - Good pick blues.
Marc Murphy - !Brisbane! - We know the Lions feel a little cheated on this one.
Bryce Gibbs - !Adelaide! - We know the Crows did all they could to get Gibbs.
Chris Judd - West Coast - Shattered Eagles :(

Carlton sure have been making the most of their opportunities since the draft penalties.

:thumbsu: Blues!

In a few years, keeping in mind they do not trade pick 1 this year to the eagles and still get judd, their on ball brigade will be comprised of three number 1 draft picks and chris judd (that is kreuzer, murphy, gibbs and judd)

Not too shabby

if judd comes in and kreuzer is also drafted and we dont lose any midfielder for the next 3 years, potentially the most lethal midfield in the game in 3 years times

yeah good midfield - but all you need is 1 or 2 injuries and they are back to square 1. even with judd - the blues will get better, but not a contender!

Agree they wont contend next year. But in 2 years and for about a decade they will be hard to knock off. Have assembled an awesome list. And are also rich, powerful and arrogant again. The Blues faithful must be loving life at present.

Other than Fevola, who do they kick it to? And who do they have behind them? Oh k.

and they were still the 6th highest scoring team in the competition despite only winning 4 games. the Blues forward line is very capable of kicking big scores. and add Judd to the midfield and they'll be very hard to stop. the backline is a worry.

Forward line: *on the assumption we trade Kennedy.

Betts, Fevola, Fisher
Houlihan, Whitnall,

With the option of rotating: Gibbs, Waite, Hartlett, Kreuzer

Backline:

Thornton,Jamieson, Anderson
Bower, O'Hailpin, Scotland

With Waite to be probably CHB just depending on whether he plays forward or back this season.

Forward line would be around 8/10
Back line would be 4/10 at this stage, very young and inexperienced

8/10 is a bit generous...Fev is the only A-grader, Fisher is handy, Betts is worse than Leon Davis, Whitnall and Houlihan's best is well and truly past them

Wow. Let's hope they form an impenetrable barrier across the midfeild to keep the ball away from the backline.

And getting all those #1 picks in a row? Shabby is the only word for it, really.

Hmm can't say I disagree with you mate. I don't think Carlton has a good ability at all to develop youngesters; its more tank and get about 8 top 5 draft picks in the space of a few years that might get them somewhere in the future.

Fev 60goals plus
Fisher 30 goals plus
Betts 20goals plus averaging 1.2 goals a game Leon Davis averages 1.3

Betts vs Davis Comparison here

Whitnall: in his return games he dominated his opposition and didn't score bags of goals due to crappy kicking look for him to be 20goals minimum

Houlihan is one of the best deliveries into the forward line going around don't expect him to kick more than 5goals.

Waite 28 goals in 2007 playing most of his football in defense.

That's 163 Goals as a minimum just from the true forwards.

That is such bullshit.

I would rate Geelong as 8/10.

FF:Stoke, Mooney, Johnson
HF:Chapman, N.Ablett,

With the option of rotating: Kelly, Rooke, Byrnes, Ottens.

How the hell do the blues with 1 star and the rest mediocre footballers get 8/10?

their Carlton supprters :)

Cats, Power, Hawks, Magpies are sitting on the best fwd lines this year.

Lions and Freo next year as well....

Also Scotland could be added to the OP list.

Stokes would be equal to eddie betts all you want from them is 1goal ave.
Mooney mm I don't rate him that highly lucky to make AA imo
Johnson gun
Chapman gun
N. Ablett isn't that fantastic

Rotating options, as forwards Kelly, Rooke, Byrnes are average
Ottens is a gun.

Let's not forget you had a fantastic year, last year that forward line wasn't looking so crash hot.

Once Carlton's midfield starts dominating we'll see how good their forward line is.

Lets look at our Scorers when our midfield dominated your lot in round 10 or 11

Walker: 1
Whitnall: 2
Murphy: 1
Simpson: 1
Fisher: 3
Waite: 4
Fev: 2
O' Hailpin:2
Bannister: 2

Total: 22goals

Doesn't look too bad if you ask me
