Analysis Centre Bounce/Wing Attendance Megathread 2024

I must be going blind as i did look at the AFL app.
All i could see was under general play 99 minutes of 141 minutes which is 70%
When i chose quarter by quarter the same figure appears

I just go to the game stats (via Matches middle of screen) do you get it from hitting stats at the bottom right of the screen.
I will need some help as i found my way via stats, found SF, then tapped on TOG (70%) and that just leads me to a graft for the year. It does have more stats than the "game stats" area though.
It is probably looking me in the face but i can't find it.

I usually use my 23-inch PC to locate stats as i find it way easier to look at in my old age than the 6-inch phone screen
Maybe another coffee will help.

I'll do some tutorial screenshots later as it's not the most intuitive process!

Similar wing structure to last week. Ah Chee was the defensive winger in the last and we actually scored a goal late in a quarter despite wanting to set up someone behind the ball which I feel hasn't happened much this season.

Flicking through my records for this season, I don't think anyone has equaled Lachie's four centre clearances in the one quarter from the third. He's equaled a few players, including himself, in having six clearances in the one quarter.

We should have a slightly different wing setup to the grand final last season with Bailey coming in for Ah Chee, who's been killing it forward in this finals series. Talking about the evolution of our wing structure, for our prelim final in 2022, it was Ah Chee/Answerth/Berry.

I think Bailey seemed really comfortable late in the season as the relief wing. Definitely isn't an onballer so could be his spot

You should do a summary to end the year. Its also been interesting seeing some of the trends on who:

• started on the wing and stayed all year (Fletcher I think, Berry with a couple of stints on ball but mostly wing all year)
• who started but moved into other roles (Ah Chee?)
• Who moved onto the wing later in the year (Bailey)

Bailey's game in the GF was incredibly disciplined - it wasn't about him trying to be a matchwinner...he was team focused like I had never seen him before.

  6. Hugh McCluggage - 5

• Generally, ignoring some one-off changes, this is how our wing setup was structured through the season and how it affected our CBA setup:
  • Round 0-7 - Fletcher/Berry/Ah Chee
  • Round 8-11 - Fletcher/Reville/Sharp (Berry moves inside with both McCluggage, Rayner and Dunkley having reduced CBAs and Ah Chee moves forward to replace McCarthy who's injured in round 8)
  • Round 13-15 - Fletcher/Reville/McCluggage (Still some reduced CBAs for McCluggage)
  • Round 16-18 - Fletcher/Berry/Ashcroft/Reville (Ashcroft returns, Berry moves to the wing. McCluggage starts getting more CBAs again)
  • Round 19-24 - Fletcher/Berry/Bailey/Ah Chee (Bailey and Ah Chee take turns as the third winger with the other generally plays a forward role with Ashcroft playing a more inside/forward role instead of playing on the wing)
  • Finals - Fletcher/Berry/Bailey (Ah Chee's form as a forward means he basically only gets a defensive wing role late in quarters)

Yeah I was really surprised, and impressed, at the commitment to the role he was able to display. His spoil against Geelong inside defensive 50 late in the third quarter was a standout moment for me.

Turned 25 a few days before the Grand Final... Maybe it's partly just growing up a bit, and maybe he also took to heart Oscar's comments about giving yourself to the team. Maybe also it simply took some time for him to learn the role. I don't think he'd ever spent a great deal of time on the wing until the last few weeks, and I know a lot of us questioned whether he had the capacity and discipline to play there.

I think Bailey loved kicking goals what small forward doesn't.
But as he matured, it looks like he has come around to a team first attitude.
Playing wing and following team instructions has improved his overall skills in my opinion
If his team first attitude continues i see him possibly moving into an inside/outside midfield role in the future.
Just turned 25 so the next 3 years should produce his best footy
He has not missed many games over the last 4 years so that's a positive too.
OOC 2026 so hopefully gets resigned sometime next year.

I hope he we run with Fletcher/Berry/Bailey as our wing trio next year. Mainstays of Berry and Fletch, with Zac rotating between half forward and wing. In fact, he and Levi doing the HFF/Wing duties on their respective flanks is a scary proposition.
