It's not 1950-60? There are petulant campaigners in every recent premiership side. Akermanis was in 3 of them. It's the way you manage them. We can't.

Akermanis won a Brownlow. Wingard can’t even finish top three in his own best and fairest. Akermanis was petulant because he was getting the best out of himself and it wasn’t good enough - he was asked to change his personality too. Wingard was simply asked to get the best out of himself and we would accomodate his personality.

The difference is chalk and cheese.

I'll move on when this management is pushed out. It's a circus. It's also not passed. Ken will get the sack when we are bottom 4 next year and the new coach in waiting will have a side stripped of talent. You know it, I know it.
You had better take an around the world cruise for a few years then.

I feel sorry for Burton, doesn't even want to go here..?
And Wingard doesn't want to leave. Absolutely mindboggling.

*sorry for the intrusion.

Replacing Chad with another middle of the road hbf'er in burton is going to set this place back so far, we have officially jumped the shark.

Previous lack of success excuses current lack of success. Where exactly are we building this spiral staircase to hell?

It doesn’t excuse it. That’s why we are making changes.

We tried it one way - a way that had Keith Thomas telling Hinkley that he couldn’t treat everyone the same and he had to ease back on the intensity - and it didn’t work. Now we are going back to the way that the majority of players responded to back in 2013/14.

As Kanye says, “The vibes is back!”

The last 160 pages have confused my aging brain. It seems we're trading a marquee player who doesn't want to leave for an opposition fan favourite who doesn't want to come here and a pick we have said we won't take (and have no-one identified for). All this just to protect the significantly upgraded contract of one of the management team. Am I close?

Yeah, you have no idea what Wingard was told, or Akermanis for that matter.

That pretty much sums it up how I understand it too

Sounds like we are just doubling down on having a bunch of high character guys who work hard. My old man was critical of Ken after the prelim in 2014 when Ken said that we as a team didn't work hard enough in that game to win. He said that the players would eventually get offside with Ken because of his 'work harder, not smarter' mantra and they'd burn out. Initially I thought he was crazy but it's slowly been proven to be correct over the last few years.

I'm sure if Ken has his way he'd select 22 Brad Eberts every week. Not sure what he'd say after a loss though.

The club has lost its way from the top down. I really fear that it's going to take a major intervention from a high power (like another Kochie) to right the ship, because this current leadership group are rudderless.

Our team was young in 2013/2014? Vibes were fresh.. the team wasn't the 2nd oldest list in the competition with stale vibes.

You're also kidding yourself if you think Akermanis was their to win flags. The whole team hated him but Leigh Matthews made it work.
