Now that we have established it’s parody and have had a good laugh because it’s a hilarious bit, can you cease and desist
An element …

Fagan and the selection committee would be quite right to go in unchanged next week (depending on Coleman’s injury).

But this must be the year we rotate and rest the odd player most weeks. It would do a world of good to have blokes like Ashcroft, Dunkley, Berry, McCluggage, Wilmot, McKenna and McCarthy have a week over the next 6-8 rounds.

And guys like Zorko, Rich, Neale, Gunston and McInerney an extra week’s rest either side of the bye.
They will all have a week off in 3 weeks after the Bombers, Suns, Crows games.

I assume there is still a pre finals bye as well, so IMO there will be no true resting of players, maybe just more cautious with certain players eg. Zorko and Rich I would be leaving out until after the bye... give Gunston an additional week off due to "general soreness" between the mid season/pre finals bye.

I wonder if there is a possibility that Robertson and or Prior have already told the club that they won’t be signing another contract and want to head back to WA at the end of the season. Maybe that is why they are not being selected in the seniors atm. I hope that is not the case but seems strange that they are constantly being overlooked.

There's a difference between making mistakes which every player does and not having the knowhow or physicality to do what you need to do in a contest . Which comes through training and experience. Some players never get to the level where they can be relied on every time it's their turn.

We even have seasoned and extremely talented players like McCluggage who seems to have made more mistakes in the first 6 games than in his whole career prior but everyone understands this is an out of character patch that will pass. But he was still able to stand up and get the ball when required.

There's been no inkling or talk along those lines.

And even if they were thinking that it can wait till year end because they're only 2 or 3 injuries away from playing finals this year. Or even playing anyway if someone dramatically loses form.

This week would've been disappointing to both I imagine but there would've been a good explanation.

Wonder if we would consider a game where Rayner plays 75% midfield time

He’s seemingly just plateaued as a C grade small forward who rarely influences the outcome of a game with an occasional blinder
We've got to give it a go sooner or later don't we ?

He looked a bit lost Friday , nothing he did seemed to work out , with Cameron and Bailey kicking goals and Linc with a clearly defined role where does he fit in ?

Makes sense to find out whether the flashes of brilliance can be extended across a game. Which would improve the team.

Hes way too talented to just be our 6th best forward. Needs to either take Gunston third tall role, Charlies crumbing one out role, impact midfielder role or Lester’s third tall defensive role

Or even long term do you give him 4-6 weeks as a Full time midfielder in the reserves

As it is we’re not getting a lot out of him and he doesn’t really seem to be developing

Was one of the reasons I wanted to move on Zorko last year to give Rayner an expanded role and more ownership over the teams performance

That's the other issue. Gunston coming in has sort of squeezed him out somewhat.

Then we had that business of him wanting to be in the backline because....blah blah.

I'm sure he doesn't see himself as a small forward spending a lot of time on the pine ,and nor do we.

Doesn't have fitness issues any more . Time to get him into the game somehow and keep improving him.

No, do not stop. It's funny. We don't have enough humour, irony and dry wit and even if we did, more is better.

Maybe we all should select a player from the ressies that we constantly promote? Imagine if Barley didn't pick Fort. We would know we have an imposter and the police should investigate who has kidnapped him!

Talking about the ressies I cannot find a full stream of the game. Could someone give me a link?

I thought Joyce was OK in his few games but made too many unforced errors. He has to eliminate those to become a regular player and I acknowledge he is inexperienced.

Lester doesn't make nearly as many unforced errors but it is possible Joyce has a bigger, as yet undeveloped, upside.

agree with not kicking 2+ goals a week, but I think he just goes missing too much, and last night especially even when he was around the ball he couldn't make an impact
Not certain he should have played this week.He was beaten up the week before

Remember the well held theories about Polks mowing Vossie's lawn and driving his kids to school?

Those were the days

Simpler times, when we didn’t have to worry about finals or possible flags

Squiggle got it wrong against Carlton but I am sure it will redeem itself against Essendon!

Will Dunkley play a similar role on Parish that he did on Cripps? Definitely seems the player to lock down on
Nah, has as much hurt factor as a pillow case.

Happy to let blokes like Parish, Mitchell, and Macrae run free.

You lock down the likes of Cripps, Bont, Petracca.
