Genuinely curious, has GC beaten us yet at all? GWS? If not we must be one of the only teams to still be unbeaten by these 2.

Might be the year for both though.

Gold Coast have never beaten: Adel (0-8), Freo (0-5), Haw (0-7), Syd (0-6) and WCE (0-1-6).

GWS have never beaten: Coll (0-4), Freo (0-4), Gee (0-4), Norf (0-5), Rich (0-5) and WCE (0-4).

Combine that with a DE of 20% and things are not looking good
I suspect that stat is pure bullshit you've made up. He had a shocker but I can't remember one person who had over 15 possessions and had good or damaging possessions. All our ball was won in the back half and I remember even our 'best' users of the ball turning it over again and again.

Your suspicions were correct - Barlow's DE was 63.6%. Wasn't the effort and outcome enough itself to lay the boots into without a need to embellish?

Does anyone else think that Fyfe looks to be carrying a bit of extra weight in a Medhurstian sort of way? Possibly I have been imagining it, but I had been thinking he was looking rather leaden footed during the preseason match sims and practice games. He was certainly leaden footed on Sunday.

Not sure what else was replied to re this post but yeh - I've noticed he's been more 'planted' in his approach. Lead feet is a good way to describe it. He tried to walk through tackles a little on the weekend - only works when you have a bit of steam up unless you're Jonah Lomu.
I think the cork may have played a big part in it this weekend

I think from Ross presser after WB game.
Is MJ certain to play? If not... as I state on the other thread, play Dawson, Silvagni and Al Pearce or Collins as our 3 defenders. If MJ is in take Silvagni out. If Tabs should be dropped, Give Al Pearce or Collins a debut up forward. As stated as much as I want Blakely in, Grey in as a winger and Hill put on the back flank. If Blakely is in, Mundy should play on the half back flank.

We should get the chocolates this week
Should.
It's the Eagles who will absolutely bake us some new brownies. Here's hoping hawthorn have half a fit team to beat the shite out of them

Freo average around 85 points a game last season. Law of averages say we will kick at least 85 points on Saturday night. I still reckon we can knock off the eagles and roos as well.

When was the last time Johnson played a WAFL game? If he is 100% fit he should play. Johnson is easily one of our most reliable kickers in the team.
Normally when he just came back from injury he is not that reliable but will get us through but don't expect no turn over.

Nah, Gold Coast haven't beaten a tonne of teams yet. We're yet to beat Carlton, you guys, West Coast, (although we did battle them to a draw last year and were a McGovern miracle goal away from beating them in 2014) Adelaide, and some other teams I think.

Freo are a better side with Johnson in the team. Again... he is easily one of our most reliable kickers in the team. Along with Ibbo and Duffield, those 3 set up the ball from defence to midfield. Johnson, Along with McPharlin were our 2 main key defenders from 2006-2015 because of their reliability and consistency. I hope Al Pearce and Collins become our 2 reliable defenders for the next 10 years.

I'm wondering if there is anybody here can remember the Suns vs. Freo game at Metricon last year where the Dockers only narrowly won after a hard fought battle in the wet in front of 8000 people (lol). If so, can anyone list what exactly went wrong for the Dockers? The Suns had an abysmal team that game and from memory Freo had a strong team (and obviously still won), but performed far poorer than expected.

Is it a Freo vs. Suns thing or was that particular day an anomaly?

I'm trying to work out whether my unrealistic thoughts of a possible win against the reigning minor premiers is warranted or not :p

Gold Coast are woeful on the road. But they'll improve as their players mature.

His timing just looked a bit off in the preseason and not having played since wouldn't have helped. I'd also like to see how he holds up under a WAFL game, instead of potentially breaking down again against GCS, although we obviously need him.

It was pissing down with rain, Freo completely dominated but couldn't convert that to goals. seventeen points for six goals.

They always compete against us, though. We've jagged a couple of wins against them. I'm not really confident in this game.
That is the reason we should keep the usual 22 with Weller out for deboer, if we lost again is the player and the game plan already went pass us.
