As you'd expect, don't recruit too many gun KPFs for 3rd round picks. Add the fact White is a Queenslander v Moore who's grown up living and breathing AFL footy.

I've heard Moore was born with a Collingwood Jumper on.

I keep coming back to composure.

Maynard a good example. He's a very good kick of the footy yet a few of his kicks have been intercepted. Generally because he's kicking to where he sees the player there and then rather than having the composure and confidence to evaluate the situation and to put the ball where the intended recipient needs to be to evade the intercept.

General kicking into the F50 similarly affected. Players need to have sufficient composure to realise that just because Trav is calling for it, he may in fact not be the best option. Have the composure to take an extra second or 2 and evaluate all the options and choose the best 1. So many <50 gamers we need to expect these types of errors and hopefully they decline over time as we add the better ball users we've recruited to the team.

I agree with the composure part. What a team we would have if they all had Pendles composure with the ball in hand.

An example of the kick and hope I am talking about was in the West Coast Game. Grundy under no pressure kicked it to White against three WC defenders.
It is those kicks that do my head in.

I am even ok with Maynards stuff ups because I could see what he was trying to do last week.
He will nail that kick 10/10 times with more experience. Love his kicking action.

McDonald played forward last week and gave Gawn a chop out in the ruck. Likely they'll go the same way this weekend with Gawn the only ruck named.

Fair enough (I don't generally watch Melbourne). Can't help thinking this leaves Dees with 2 guys giving away 10 or more centimetres to Moore & Grundy/Witts though. Might get away with it in the wet. McDonald would also be giving away 9cm & 7kg to Grundy in the ruck, 15cm and 19kg to Witts.

Summary of changes (more grunt in the middle, better ruck combo, less options for tall forwards) = good for wet weather forecast

Sadly if Collingwood think Moore will dominant as a number 1 forward at 18, the selectors have got rocks in their head. Should of waited for next week when Cloke is back and then drop White. Poor Moore at 18 they think he can carry a forward line no matter how good he will be.

I promise you Moore will never dominate at 18 but mainly because he's 19yr 6 months. I don't think Pies think he will dominate yet either, just give a contest, especially in the wet.

It is funny that people think White is not a natural foot baller. He did this pass on the weekend only 30/40 metres (guessing) and he was running tight against the boundary so he did a dinky what looked like a bannana kick to Swan ( I think was the player). It was brilliant. I did that a few times during my footy days and I know it is not easy. unfortunately some people on BF are so negative that they can't see how good a passage of play that was.

We were getting killed by Jones in the middle last time we played them, not Gawn. Adams was injured, Pendles was running lame, we had hardly any inside grunt to speak of so it wasn't that surprising.
Hoping that having Adams and Greenwood running through the guts somewhat turns the tables in the middle this time.

I hope it's raining also, but on the White thing.. I just believe he isn't supposed to be the main man of any sort. I feel he is way better suited as the third man in the forward. He did rather well at Sydney in this role i felt. He just doesn't have what it takes to be our main man. Here's hoping Darcy can be that guy.

Jesse is overall not a great player imo and i feel a delistment may be around the corner wether at this years end or the next.

Queen's Birthday is their GF every year being their home game. Every team tries especially to get up against us but how many GF's can Melbourne play each season?

We finally dropped a tall but IMO we dropped a mobile tall which isn't ideal for mine. Again persisting with two ruckmen. This won't be a winning formula moving forward.

Ben Kennedy stiff but every time he comes up to seniors his kicking deserts him. Always shanky.

Great to see Adams, Elliott and Seedsman back. Dwyer is meh.

Oxley had to be dropped though. Form has been down for some time.

I'm extremely disappointed in the treatment of Blair though. He has had a very good season for mine and then he became a sub out of nowhere and is now out of the side. He is either injured or it's poor management by the coach because he is in our best side this season.

I understand Seedsman's call back. We lack run, and with Oxley deservedly out we had no wingers. I had Young in instead in my changes but it's the same idea.

Hard to disagree with Kennedy and Blair out. Kennedy could have had another chance but he was very poor two weeks in a row Blair didn't do much as a sub but I would say the reason he's it is his two poor performances prior, not his game as a sub.

I don't understand dropping White though. He hasn't been that bad of late and structurally I don't see how the forward line will shape up. Won't be able to watch the game this weekend but I'll be really interested in seeing what the forward structure was when I catch a replay next week.
