going to lose Hunter for sure.

I wouldn’t rush Boyd in until Bev thinks he is ready.

In Lipinski, Cordy
Out Hunter, Honeychurch

Jong very lucky to stay in but I’d replace him if we weren’t missing so many players

Out: Hunter (Susp), Biggs, Honeychurch
In: Lipinski, Cordy, Boyd/Roughead.

This is going to be a tough game. Lipinski seems to be putting in the hard yards so would be good to see him in. Boyd or Roughead simply must come in for structure and ruck relief against Sandilands.

FB: Williams Cordy Wood
HB: Johannisen Naughton Suckling
C: Dale Wallis Macrae
HF: Dunkley Redpath Daniel
FF: Gowers Boyd/Roughead Dickson
RUC: English Bontempelli Maclean

INT: Jong Richards Lipinski Dahlhaus

EMG: Honey Webb Young

Would keep Jong in to keep up with Stephen Hill

A trip to Perth probably not worth rushing Boyd back, give him another week & unleash him against Carlton.

Honeychurch out
Cordy in

Edit - don’t think Hunter gets suspended after watching it again, reprimand for making unnecessary contact to the head though

Lipinski in if he does get suspended by Christian for 11 weeks though

Redpath out, offers very little, has kicked 1 goal in two games. Have to bring in Boyd. We need a proper tall forward who can play ruck. I would like to see two key forwards play 80% forward. I’m sick of us kicking to our small forwards who continue to miss goals

Out: Hunter

In: Cordy

Also may see Roughy/Boyd in purely because of how Timmy would go against Sandi.

Happy to let Lipinski and Boyd continue building form in the VFL though, multiple strong performances before getting promoted would be ideal imo.

It's pretty hard to kick goals when you spend virtually a whole quarter (3rd) playing loose man in defence or warming the pine. I know Franklin was starting to get on top but the use of Redpath in that quarter was odd. Several times we entered the forward line being outnumbered and undersized.

Watched a bit of freo today and were actually very very good the first half. Not sure what happened from there though

In: ruck support for English vs Sandilands,
Potential replacement for hunter
Lipinski
Cordy

Out: Hunter, gowers,
Was thinking rest naughton for cordy but they will want to take him home - maybe Jong
Whoever gets surprisingly announced as being injured come Tuesday

I think Cordy coming back helps, but I would also like to see a different looking forward line to the current one.

In: Cordy

Out: Biggs.

I cant see Boyd coming in after one good game against an undermanned stand alone side as encouraging as the reports on his performance were. I think the MC will give him time to build a little form and confidence first.

I'd prefer Honeychurch and Jong out too, but our team is just too young to be bringing in more kids for a trip to Perth.
We desperately need Crozier and either Trengove or Morris back soon. I would suggest English, Naughton and Richards will all be phased out of the team as the season progresses and they tire.

OUT: Hunter (susp), Honeychurch, Biggs
IN: Cordy, Lipinski, Boyd

Biggest concern with those changes is the amount of run we lose. Could maybe leave Biggs in and drop Redpath.
Boyd and English to split the ruck 50/50 and rest up forward.

If Hunter survives the MRP then I'd either leave Lipinski out or drop Gowers.

In the gun:
Richards will need to show a bit more next week to keep his spot (much as I love him), especially with Crozier due back soon.
Need a more consistent contribution from Daniel too.
Gowers was quiet today. Despite a nice goal he was one of our weaker players.

Out: Richards (just a rest, he'll be back in soon enough), Hunter(susp)
In: Cordy, Webb

One more chance for Honey, Boyd needs to play well again, form against Coburg means jack

Big question is, is Boyd actually available? I’m a little sceptical if he’s battling mental illness that it won’t still be quite a few weeks away before he becomes available irrespective of VFL form. Hard to tell from the lack of information coming from the club (understandably). I know the club is saying it’s just form but I do wonder if there’s a longer term recovery/management plan going on.

With Dickson playing well I’d consider playing one of the young forwards in place of Gowers. It would seem a low risk and potential good upside change.

If Hunter is suspended (I think he’ll get a week because Papley looked affected) do you just increase midfield rotations to cover so you don’t lose much run and could just swap Cordy in for Hunter?

IC: Wallis, suckling, Jong, Richards

Im not a Roughead fan, but agree with giving Boyd another week and bringing him in for a home game.

We need another big guy to help with sandi. He’s in good form

Out - Hunter (susp.), Honeychurch (omit.)
In - Cordy, Lipinski

Redpath, Richards, Daniel lucky. Gowers lucky we have few other dangerous forwards.

Trengove a possibility but I'd be wary of going too tall too quickly. Smaller structure is working atm.

Out: Biggs, Hunter (susp.)
In: Cordy, Lipinski

Roughead offers zero against Sandilands. May as well let a midfielder spell English and have some extra run on the bigger deck.

Lipinski gets the nod over Webb, who I don’t trust to have an impact.

I don’t think an away game at a huge ground in Perth is the week to bring Boyd back. Hopefully he kicks another 5 in the VFL and comes back against Carlton.

In: Electric shock stimulation on the testicles to correct poor goal kicking, with the button to be
controlled by the great MD. Although on reflection Jongy might not make it to the airport.
