Prediction Changes v Collingwood (Round 2)

Like a few before him, the leash is a lot longer for Gallagher than it is for others and we're just going to have to bear with his costly skills/decision making until he adjusts to the speed of the game, at least under the current coaching setup.

Plus with Garcia out the options are limited, we already brought in Baker...

Is what it is. I wouldn't mind seeing Gags go forward more often to give him less time/space with which to overthink or turn the ball over and let him ping a few shots on goal. West could move up the ground more often. Or he can just be the sub and AJ gets a go.

I would have played Poulter in front Dolan we could do with gut running. The signs are bad for Buss third year and still behind Gardiner who has been named as an emergency. I wish I had more confidence in the likes of Baker, Gallagher, VDM, Mcneill to name a few at hitting targets by foot.

I see Buss is also an emergency so least he is equal to Gardiner.

Khamis and Lobb did really well against Geelong as the pairing last year. I think that's fine that they went with that but it's going to be a big ask whoever is asked to mind Membrey. Going to need to win the midfield battle to keep the pressure off the backs and thats going to be hard with our outs.

I hope Baker is coming in as the sub. I'd rather Poulter if he is playing a full game

Geelong only had Cameron as a tall that game which Lobb blanketed him Buku only had Rohan/Henry which are what he can handle guys his height with no strength McStay will destroy him like Fogarty did

My predicted line up for tomorrow is something like this.

C. Bramble Libba Davidson
HF. Kennedy Naughton Harmes

Thank you. Somebody finally posted the team. Had hoped to see it here, but just the usual chit chat so I had to work it out from the clues.
For anyone still in that position here's what the club published:

As Mojorisin said it'll probably be Dolan the sub but I'd love to see him get a full game. He showed a few glimpses last week but was probably very nervous so didn't do himself justice. I reckon he'd go better this week, eve in front of 80,000.

Anyway I'm pretty sure Arty gets a full game after wearing the vest last week. Looking forward to that.

A few benefits with this team - Half the team aren't guaranteed a spot that will be playing with extra motivation/effort. And we are mobile.

We are going to need a team effort to keep the pressure off our defence. I still rate us a chance.
Baker cops a lot of hate, but every now and again he pulls together an awesome game. Hopefully the stars align.

Ruff. Ruff, Ruff, Ruff, Ruff.

Woof, woof, f***ing woof!

Stick it right up 'em!!! 🔴⚪🔵
😀

Btw, still one of the best marks I've seen live, and the photo doesn't fully do it justice. R1, 1977, Colin Dell at Vic Park. According to his stats, the only mark he took for the game! (Peter Munro in one of his few games, and Des Tuddenham back at the Pies after a largely failed captain-coaching stint at Windy Hill. He played round 2, then retired.)

Edit: Dell played his last game later in 77 as well, gone from VFL at the age of 25. Pity, as he was a hard at it HB.

The Busslinger obsession is the funniest meme on here atm. He only played half a practice game because after the pre-season the coaches had him behind Jones, Lobb, O’Donnell and Khamis and on a par with Gardner. He hasn’t done anything since and they’ve picked those blokes ahead of him. I don’t know why it’s surprising.

I’ll piss myself if Gardner is a late in.

The same coaches cost us top 4 last year by playing Khamis as a KPD where he was slaughtered by Fogarty he never was and never will be a KPD Gards or Buss are needed

Brooooo we lost that game by 40 points while kicking 9.18 from 57 inside 50s. We also went 6-2 with him after he came back into the side in Rd 15.

I really hope this poor Busslinger kid can live up to some of these dreams that he’s our secret KPD saviour that the coaches just haven’t noticed.

Again where did I or anyway say that?

We have more then enough evidence that Buku is only ever going to be effective on mediums and when he goes up to a KPD which he and Williams will have to we get badly exposed

We lost by 40 points with their full forward scoring 31 points almost as if that and better kicking at goal has us win

Buku is not and never will be a KPP and gets exposed when he has to play it

So we'd have only lost by 9 points if these silly coaches hadve played busslinger

I don't get it either.
Busslinger still has one huge deficiency in his game style that really, really goes against how we are currently playing (slingshot off half back and speed of ball movement). Anyone who's watched the kid knows he reads the play really well coming in, but once he has ball in hand he is as slow as molasses moving it on, he almost always stops, props, backs up, and takes his full 7 seconds to find his next kick, the times he does blaze away almost always result in turn over.

I have heard this from our coaches that it's the one thing he really needs to work on.

I really do hope Busslinger makes it but right now he has played half a pre-season game and nothing more, let him get some VFL form before we throw him to the wolfs at the MCG.
