Getting 2017 GF vibes about this one
I'm getting the 2016 vibes.
I'm happy for Melbourne to win the next 5 grand finals. Just not this one.
Noooooooo way. I couldn't stand watching Melbourne win 5in a row. May the Dogs win this grand final plus many many more. That's what we want.

Correct me if I am wrong but both times we have played Melbourne this year we were missing:

Dunkley
Treloar
Martin
Gardner
Wood

Also lost Keath and Richards in our last game mid match.

Offset this with Bruce being out. He kicked 3 and 2 goals.

I think this team will make finals in the future and this includes grand finals, young players know this, so if they don’t get opportunities this year they will in other years.
That’s true. If you want to play in a flag, the best you can do is stick it out at a contender and press for an opportunity. Multiple GF appearances are common for sides that get there.

Going back to 1991, every premiership side has played in another grand final within 5 years either side of their flag. We were, until this week, the outlier.

We’re fronting up with a stronger side certainly, and honestly on current form I don’t think we lose much having Schache in Bruce’s spot.

We are going to be big rivals with Melbourne the next few years.

May as well start disliking them now.

The way the carried on Friday as though the flag is already won didn’t sit well with me.

If they start to sound like Geelong or Tiger supporters yes, otherwise still like them.

This is very much appreciated!

Some good data here. Roarke & Hunter pretty much have the wings locked down and I think that will continue for the GF. Bevo looks to be going for a defensive mindset from the wingers.

Interesting that Baz & Treloar played pretty much exclusively forward. Earlier in the season these 2 were playing a lot of wing time so there's definitely been a switch in positioning.

Melbourne supporters on the radio saying they have noone with premiership experience and the dogs have several but that doesn't give us the right to the flag

What? How precious are they

2016 and 2017 were pretty similar. Both underdogs vs minor premiers with the minor premiers talked up having a superior offence/defence all week.

We are also probably the most well equipped to know how hungry Melbourne will be.

I can tell if this rivalry will develop or not by the end of the next H&A season. I've seen plenty of teams in history that have had great one off years like Melbourne this year then they don't perform to that level again.

I may regret saying this but maybe, just maybe, we are the better side this year.

We’ve certainly had a tougher run with injuries.
