Good except Carmy for Allan

from my Delorean
Why? Carmichael has been underwhelming for the past couple of weeks and Allan was the travelling emergency.

Not sure what his forward/mid split has been but I suspect Adams will be getting a bit more time around center bounce with JDG out.

Nick Daicos CBA's are up as well with 12 yesterday.

Crisp only 5 CBA yesterday too. He could push in more.

Basically I just wouldn't be surprised if we don't feel the need to replace JDG with a mid of Carmichael/Macrae ilk.

Naics and Adams will spent more time in the guts over the next month.

Some West Coast player has been given a week for a sling tackle on Adams
I said at the time to my mates that Adams had been dumped on his head, and the umpires did absolutely nothing!
Glad it was picked up by the MRO!

Out: JDG, McCreery, Markov
In: Elliott, Lipinski, McStay

Adams to replace JDG in the guts, Lipinski to take the HF spot from Adams.

Elliott and McCreery a like for like replacement.

McStay comes in for Markov with WHE moving further up the ground.

Ginnivan sub.

I think Markov might struggle to retain his spot after yesterdays performance. Absolute mare against the worst team in the comp.

So his good games against quality opponents count for nothing?

It's no secret though that he's player 25-28 on the list, but he's been more than handy over the past 8 weeks.

Not this again

Frampton is 100% in our best side. We’re not winning a flag with one tall defender. It’s simply not happening.

People writing Frampton off after one game need their head checked.

He went from not playing Round 1 to settling in to being an important Key Defensive cog. Then, he was moved into the Ruck and started to perform rather well. He then gets injured at training and returns yesterday after a few weeks out.

Yet, people want him gone after 1 performance. News flash, Oscar Allen is top 5 in the Coleman. An out and out gun.

That’s rough. It’s a sign of good positioning from Frampton to start the contest in front of Allen. Then losing front position to Allen is nothing to be bothered about the guys a stud and would probably be leading the Coleman if he played for Collingwood. Frampton conceded 1.5 goals from my perspective v Allen (Allen got him with that swing lead in the 3rd and the free kick was 50/50 I doubt Mihocek gets it for instance) which is a great outcome considering they had 55 I50’s. His disposal was a bit iffy, but off a 3 week break it was nothing you’re hanging him on.

The one query I had with his role yesterday was the impact it had on Moore. I hazard a guess it was due to the ability of Waterman and others to compete, but that’s the shakiest I’ve seen Moore overhead in a while. If it were due to positioning from being on a less dangerous forward that creates a dilemma. I feel though that the club will be comfortable it was a one off and that continuity of the group will see us get that balance right.

Famous last words I know, but I’m not sure how this Demons forward group put 80+ points past us without the mids going berserk scoreboard wise.

The Dees forward line is completely dysfunctional.

Our defensive system should make a mess of them.

His 1st run in defence since he was moved into the ruck against Brisbane in R4. Think he’s entitled to a little time to reacquaint himself to the role.
I wasn't really referring to what Frampton did or didn't do in the air. I'm referring to how our ground vs aerial game and space coverage looked. Adding a third pure tall changes the balance

Absolutely - as diligent and brave as Murphy is, we saw last week against big Larkey that he’s not the man for the Hawkins and Lynch’s of the world.

(Not a slight against Murphy at all, a fantastic player, but wrestling the giant forwards isn’t his role)

The addition of Frampton potentially counteracts Moore's role a touch. However, it highlights the importance of Murphy as the 3rd tall in the defence, as we saw early in yesterdays game.

No, but with 3 players to come in, and only 1, maybe 2 confirmed outs, he’s one of the vulnerable ones. You said it yourself, he’s player 25-28 on the list, and he didn’t perform well on the weekend. In a team that’s been humming along with everyone performing their role well most weeks, the tolerance level for being dropped becomes lower when there’s best 22 players returning.

I am not hanging him - don't exaggerate. I don't think he had a good first back game but am not wanting him omitted.

This looks and sounds about right to me.

Adams cops a lot of stick in here at times but he had a great game on Saturday. He exploded out of packs and used the ball really well, with three or four perfect passes inside-F50 which gave the defenders no chance and resulted in goals. And he kicked a great one himself too.

It was a real DeGoey-like performance, which is exactly what we’ll need from Adams over the next month.

Adams played like someone reminded him to keep attacking & not to worry about occasional mistakes.

I didn't mention either aerial or ground game so not sure how that's relevant.

I think you're overstating any defensive drop off this week relative to others as a consequence of Frampton playing. It was minimal, and given it was his first game with the defensive group since round 4, it'll only improve going forward.

Pretty hard to defend Ginnivan after the weekends game.

Probably stays in because of the injuries would want to lift in the effort tackling and overall play.

No 'you're' at all of either a collective or personal nature that I can see.
That’s a generalised comment to the room. If I was directing it at you it would have read “nothing you should be hanging him on”. You were OTT with your critique that’s all it was.
