Anyone rate Harrison as AFL standard?
I thought he did pretty well first game tbh. Seemed to get to good places, tackled well, made OK decisions

Anyone rate Harrison as AFL standard?
Starting line-up.Isn't Johnno already in?
Yep. Didn't look out of place. Standard small forward game. Statistically on par with what you expect to get from a small forward.I thought he did pretty well first game tbh. Seemed to get to good places, tackled well, made OK decisions
I don't think adding in Frampton really benefitted the defence - let alone adding an extra aerialist in Howe as well.As talls start to return……
The dilemma we have been discussing for months will come home to roost. The coaching staff and selectors will have some delicate surgery required
We need a lineup that suits our game plan. The challenge will be adding frampton mcstay Howe etc without threatening to undermine the manic ball movement that has got us here in the first place….. ie not dropping the wrong players and making us too top heavy for the game style that has got us here in the first place.
For those disliking...from Fly's post-game presser.
"I haven't said this on this side of the border, but we like to stay in the moment and have deep wins, so we're gonna enjoy this one. We've got a 9-day break. We're back at work on Wednesday and we'll get to work on Melbourne on Wednesday".

One of the talls would have to be the sub I reckon.
Last final series we went in with a tall sub. It's a medical as well as a tactical subThat too is a terrible idea. The sub should be a midfielder or a medium tall at worst

He also said after the Anzac Day game that they had been planning for the 5 day break for months. He’s a sneaky bloke Fly.For those disliking...from Fly's post-game presser.
Are you looking forward to King's Birthday? What's the mindset going into that game?
I didn't really mean in terms of Framptons game - more that we looked the same in terms of intercepting and defending the air as we usually do - we always look good at that, but we didn't look as sharp at ground level or get as many chains coming out.Agree and was going to mention that myself…. First game back though so benefit of the doubt.

There's two ways to go. Play the minimum number of talls in your 22 to maximise run, in which case you might have a tall sub for medical cover.
Player load management and recovery are different to staying in the moment and enjoying the wins deeply. He also said after the Anzac Day game that they had been planning for the 5 day break for months. He’s a sneaky bloke Fly.

There's probably a psychology to it. Players being able to enjoy the win, they want that feeling every week.
Mihocek and AJ are not slow moving sloths. I don't get the negativity. At least give it a trial. Three smalls alongside 3 mobile talls is fine.Agree.... i think it would be absolute madness.
3 is fine, but it's the rotations and low game time needed to not often have 4, if you're also playing 2 rucks.Mihocek and AJ are not slow moving sloths. I don't get the negativity. At least give it a trial. Three smalls alongside 3 mobile talls is fine.

He has always been a flawed player who lacks pace and athleticism. These observations are not startling revelations. He had a poor game. AJ has had a few shockers. So has McCeery and Hill. Will only be saved by injuries if he doesn’t. Absolutely miles off it.
You’ll all go gaga about it, but just as made the early call on Stephenson I’m confident to go again and say Ginnivan won’t be on our list by the end of next year. Doubt he’ll be on a list at all, but he might get another shot in a bottom team, you never know.
Feel free to put that quote in your signature or set yourself a reminder if you need because I’m sure you all think it’s outrageous to even suggest it.
He’s the slowest bloke on our list, brings zero intensity when he doesn’t have the ball, drop his bottom lip at the first sign of trouble, tackles like his arms are made of spaghetti and his one trump card in his patented knee drop has been all but eliminated by the AFL. No good being a good kick for goal when you have no way of finding the ball close to goals now that the frees have dried up.
Harrison will overtake him quick smart if he shows a bit of ticker.
Xo
What's with the panic merchant behaviour? We have no idea the severity of WHE & McCreery's injuries, and Lippa seems on the cusp of return. Back from the ledgeWould have almost preferred to lose than lose 3 best 22 players.
We will be missing Lippa, Sidebottom, Howe, De Goey, WHE & Mcreery from our best 22 for the foreseeable future.
