Fly would have preferred 25 disposals and zero goals - because it would have shown manic effort and commitment.

Two goals and bottom 3 for disposals is not making a case for recall.
Rubbish. It's horses for courses. We need goals. Players have got loads of possessions in games we have been thumped. Our scoring has dried up. How is Jack supposed to kick 6 or get 30 touches in a game where we were smashed? I hope our match committee has more footy nous than you.

All teams outside top 4 will be too banged up to compete. Top 2 teams will play off for flag

Or maybe even Checkers, he doesn't have a mortgage on CHF, boy has he stunk it up over the last few weeks- time for a shake up
Geelong defence is tall and exceptional at defending high balls. Our best chance of exposing them is when the ball hits deck or with fast movement in

Just watched Matthew Lloyd on AFL site. Hawks had 4 players in for centre clearances we had 7. He said time to stop playing pure mids across half forward and bring another true forward in and settle on the mids for centre clearances. Glad someone with expertise agrees with me.

I thought the same, at least in the first half whilst I was still watching. Just his movement and intent stood out to me.

Stats don't always tell the story.
When he gets it I agree, but for a player who is apparently a very good runner, I didn’t see him impacting anywhere near enough in the game. But that’s just my opinion. Maybe I’m just off him..

We were smashed in the first QTR - it became an arm wrestle after that, so we were competitive for 3 QTR’s.

He layed ONE tackle and had 6 disposals- with no desire or effort like his game a few weeks ago where he had 26 disposals and 3 goals.
As for “he’s a goal kicker” - well he’s not banging the door down with buckets of goal in the VFL. Otherwise we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

At least admit you have an irrational basis for your support for his recall - we could then move on, because these poor justifications, are just rubbish.

Had two more opportunities, one had a very rare hit the goal post high up, which they said you'd never see it happen.
The other, he marked it at 50, but was then unselfish and kicked it closer to goal to Tardrew (who missed)

They moved him to the goal square for most of the game. I was right near the bench. Then sat him out for half the last Q
Surely sitting out the last quarter means he is playing next week?

Maybe read some of Jen’s comments before being so harsh on him spinny. We were smashed in the first, he didn’t play the last. So in two quarters of footy where we were competitive and not witches hats he kicked 2.1 and 6 disposals. I saw the one that hit the post, It was the worst luck bounce one could see. So if not for the bounce, 3 goals. Not bad.

It’s called common sense.

If Fly was purely interested in Ginnivan’s goal kicking he’d already be in the team. So common sense suggests he wants to see a more rounded game from him.
Considering who did not play VFL and those who were managed late
In Frampton WHE Ginnivan
out Nick Murphy Mitchell
Possibly Cox for AJ
Ginnivan not in our best 23 but in our best 26. They will probably start him sub this week but I am hoping he is in 22

Agreed!

For instance, Lipinski played really well last year, especially in Finals, on a wing, where he repeatedly delivered the ball inside F50 to the advantage of our forwards. This year we’re playing him out of position, in a role that gives him no time or space, expecting him to score goals, rather than set them up for others. Similar for Adams. Is it any wonder both are not performing very well?

Last seasons our wingers were Sidebottom and Josh Daicos

How fickle is the media!
2 losses and an injury or 2 and it’s curtains for the year, they jump from bandwagon to bandwagon weekly.
It’s laughable the standard of the media these days.

King has written us off. We are a team who relies upon one player to win us the flag apparently. Oh well. Season over. I much prefer this new attitude. Pies are done. We always seem to play better when written off.
When King writes us off . we are about to Fly .. pun intended...!

I got the feeling its a real contender. Sat on the bench until 7/8 minutes into the last Q, came on then kicked a goal, then spent the last 10 mins of the game on the bench at the end. I'd say only spend only 6-7 mins in total on ground in the 4th quarter.

It's bizarre logic isn't it? Apparently he's the difference between us winning & losing, yet Nick played in all our losses this year.

I much prefer to be the underdog. Always felt uncomfortable with the media fawning over us & calling us the favourites.
