Who gives a **** what the team sheet says on Thursday.

Its the team that runs out that defines if a statement has been made. It makes no difference to the players who get dropped ffs.

Agree with that mate. I reckon we should give Gibbo a rest too, it's just the only explanation as to why we would leave Mullett out. Well that and he's coming back from injury but his disposal numbers have been good in the VFL.

I also get the shits with Gibsons lack of tackles but I suspect this is because he's one of the few on our list that can cover enough ground to run to cover space and then bust a gut to provide an option offensively. I don't think it's because he doesn't work hard enough both ways.

Absolutely, his strength is his gut running and his role in the side is to create options out of defense and going forward. He definitely works hard both ways and has a great work ethic.
The lack of tackling doesn't really bother me as that is not his role.

It's more that he isn't really creative or damaging enough with ball in hand. Not sure if Mullett has a huge tank, but we know he has great disposal and the ability to run and carry the ball. Plus, he won't have to worry about a man as much as he did when playing HB, so could be a real offensive weapon. I would love to see him groomed for the Gibbo "Arc to Arc" wingman role.

Then why on earth Have our coaches publicly stated that the Collingwood performance was not acceptable and that changes will be made? And then go on to drop two of the youngest players, both who played significantly less time than the others? It leaves us open to fair critiscism. I'd prefer them to tell us that were gonna back our senior players to perform, and that it is up to them to decide whether or not they deserve to be out there.

Why lie to the supporters?

I have offered my views on why the changes made occurred over the last few pages.

As for advertising the changes for supporters, i think the message being sent is for the players not for us so i couldn't give two ****s how the changes are announced. At the end of the day how we get it counts for zero. Its the message itself that counts and i hope that those dropped hear it and others who weren't that continue in the 22 due to the dearth of ready options are truly on notice.

I think it does, actually. I'm sure LMac is pretty embarrassed right now, seeing his name with a big (omitted) next to it. If Atley is dropped for an emergency on Sunday, the gesture is almost hollow.

I don't like late changes. To me it projects weakness. If we're not confident with the 22 named on Thursday (be it injury or on form), why would be opposition be worried? Emergencies are there for the bloke who does his hammy getting off the plane, not as a way of giving a player who's injury is at 85% an extra day to get to 90%.

Lots of people throwing the baby out with the bathwater here!

Apparently we

I doubt Atley will be feeling any more fulfilled sitting in the stands on Sunday than LMac will be right now.

I think he will. LMac will be prepping for his VFL game tonight and hurting that he's not going over to Tas with the team. Atley will be a late out and miss most of the media/supporter scrutiny.

Mate, if our footballers are concerned about supporter scrutiny then we are well and truly ****ed. The only thing that should concern them is running out with the 22

That's rubbish B Tron. I'd be very disappointed/concerned if our players didn't play for us, and cared that we were proud or not of their efforts.

Would prefer atley locating footballs at weribee than sitting in the stands but I hope this fires him up.

He's got loads of time on his hands and has some key attributes that differentiates him from the masses but just isn't doing it at the moment.

It'd be a minor factor. Its scrutiny of coaches and peers that matters. With the amount of ****wits on social media these days do you think clubs encourage fan engagement or taking under consideration what fans say and think?

'We' are represented by the jumper, what it stands for and the history we associate with and they represent whenever they play. At a stretch a handful of supporters who have dealings with the players and club may have some 'pull'.

Anything else is fantasy.

Good to see we've brought in pace.

Shattered that Daw isn't getting a run, hope he doesn't leave at the end of the year.
Of those to miss out he is the most stiff. Cant do much more.
