The more interesting part will be who does he go to? I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t take either of the big two forwards and they try and hide him on Silvagni when he goes forward or their third option.

Narkle / Evans / Fanta for Rioli

Maybe another week for x in the twos. Once they work out Jonas is shot X in for Jonas and Bergman goes down back.

If Jonas doesn't come in it would be the clearest demonstration yet that Ken isn't running the show.

Also dropping Hayes so we can ruck Ollie Lord who isn't even a ruckman is possibly the dumbest Hayes take I've read tonight and that's a very high bar.

Carlton's ruckmen being out injured is all the more reason to play Hayes. We can actually utilise his greatest strength of hitouts to advantage against Carlton when he won't be playing against an 8 foot 4 bloke like he was tonight.

hayes is alright as far getting the tap goes but how much that actually helps is debateable. There is a a better argument to put Dixon in the ruck until his legs explode and play lord upforward

The thing about Dixon is that even if he isn't super impactful he is taking the best opposition defender every week which opens up the game for Marshall and Finlayson. Lord wouldn't be getting the best defender from the opposition.

If you put a third tall defender on him he will dine out. He is too big and too good for smaller, shorter players even if he cant move.

Imagine Mac Andrew playing on Charlie Dixon. It would be a bloodbath.

Fear of Jonas is all about worrying that if he gets in then he's never coming out.
If we've truly turned a corner on gold passes then he comes in as cover and is not in our best 22 when all fit.

Tend to agree. Jonas might be the most like for like McKenzie replacement but I’d rather Bergman/Jones play on Curnow.

Late in the last quarter a play by an over exuberant Lachie resulted in a GC goal. Bergman had the mark covered but Jones came over the top to spoil his own team mate’s attempt. Did not look good. Lachie needs to sometimes take a chill pill and his game will improve.
Getting back to the McKenzie’s replacement and like for like it ‘should‘ be the captain. Tom has already suffered enough humiliation and getting him back into the side will certainly improve his mental state. I’m saying this as I reckon a fairly motivated player will return to the side and how many times do we say SANFL form does not mean much to a returning A grade player. Yes, it may seem to me that I’m relying on Tom to give. us that “wing and a prayer” moment but if selected Tom will go out there totally motivated!

Really hope they don't bring Jonas back, he was poor in the SANFL again and looks every bit a player who needs to retire. Picking him to play on Curnow or McKay will be a disaster.

I've never been a big fan of Charlie, but credit where it's due what he's doing on one leg is pretty damn admirable.

Needs an op at season's end obviously I wouldn't say he's cooked though.

Jonas provides faux toughness by double fisted spoiling and injuring his teammates by jumping into them, losing his feet and getting reported by clumsiness every so often.
