Keep it simple.

Out: Rioli, McKenzie
In: Narkle, Jonas

Take your pick of the Fringey McFringe brigade Evans/Burgoyne/Fantasia/Duursma*/Bonner/Mead/Sinn as sub

*not actually that fringe, just coming back off injury

If Jonas doesn't come in it would be the clearest demonstration yet that Ken isn't running the show.

True. Particularly if Hinkley has made the call moments after the game that he's picking him and then he's not picked. I didn't hear Hinkley's presser but if he's announced that Jonas is in already then he's a f-wit.

From the press conference:

Asked who would come in to replace McKenzie "Tom would have first dibs," Hinkley said. 'He's been playing well in the SANFL'.

'He's always led the right way, he's been the right person to lead the club and if Trent does miss a bit of time, Tom is pretty clear in front at the moment for his turn to take that spot back.'

With regards to the ruck Hinkley stated he thought 'Sam as a young ruck did a really good job for someone with their first opportunity for a long time' but that moving Dixon into the ruck from half time was 'really important to give us some drive around the ball' .

As far as the ruck choice against Carlton, Hinkley noted Visentini's BOG performance in the SANFL but stated that Lycett is his clear first choice and 'we are hopeful he will be back this week'.

Make of that what you will, bearing in mind that about 50% of what is said by coaches at post-match press conferences is predictive of future selections.

It means Jonas In and Hayes out.

Week in week out we prove that height in the backline is overrated. If you've got a big athletic guy like Aliir then that's fantastic, but big lumbering defenders that can't kick or run are a waste of space, you're better off with slightly undersized guys that can kick, mark and read the play well. Whatever you lose in the very occasional one on one height mismatch (that by the way, even a really tall defender is capable of losing if the ball is delivered well) you gain on the offensive end and then some. In my opinion, accidentally or by design, we are revolutionising what a good back 6 looks like.

That ain't happening. Bergs started on the wing last night but went back when McKenzie rolled his ankle - dominating against Ben King forcing him to be subbed out in the 3rd qtr with just one touch.

Bergs is a lock for the rest of the year.
Send Bergman back

As in to the backlines to replace Jonas...
