Butts in doubt, thought his shoulder was only a niggle ;)

VB: we saw a couple of weeks ago we had a shuffle and Dawson played back there, we could go back to that again.

Yeah VB, let’s take Dawson out of midfield, go short again and the last time we did that, we conceded 8 goals to their tall forwards.

Or how about given Butts has a crook shoulder we look more long term, rest him for a few weeks and play Keane or Borlase. If we never intended playing Borlase, why did we retain him?

Nicksy… Back to the old shitfilled well that is Ned Mchenry..

Its just so boringly predictable..

Why dont you ring up Rowe Nicks?.. see if you can organise to bring him back too you dickhead.

Ned has played dozens of games and barely any of them really good..

I dont reacon I’ve ever seen another player expel so much energy on a football field for so little a return as Ned Mchenry… maybe Ben Keays?..

Just give someone else a chance.. Ned has been granted enough games for us to all know he’s not an AFL standard player. The only reason they are persisting with him is because they used a high pick on him.. if he’d been a third rounder they wouldve delisted him by now.
I don't reckon the coach is even close to you when we're talking predictable...:p

If McHenry comes in for one week, lays a heap of tackles and spills for Rankine and Rachele to pick up, and then is straight out for Pedlar next week then I'm okay with that.

Plus, Ned is a solid sub option on top of it.

No issue with it, Ned hasn't struggled to hit the scoreboard this year.

Really like that despite this week being a very winnable game Nicks isn't rushing Fogarty back. Shows he is looking beyond short term results as he should be. Hopefully we don't see a repeat of playing an injured and out of form Doedee when Worrell was more than ready.

if reports are correct we are doing it to Butts

I kinda lean to if Burgess says he's fine, he's fine.

He's not playing that poorly at the moment. Mainly being hung out to dry by our defensive structures falling apart.

Will need to keep an eye on Tex and whether we keep playing him if his niggle gets worse. Might need to be Fog for him next week.

Jones and Pedlar play different roles, it’s McHenry for Pedlar. Given Jones can’t play midfield, if Berry misses, to keep Jones in the team they will need a reshuffle. So possibly Sloane to the middle and Jones wing.

But the less disruptive will be Schoenberg in, Jones sub. 2 weeks in a row as sub now isn’t the same as when it was medical sub, they can still give Jones decent game time. O’Brien has been Carlton’s sub for the first 3 games.
Agree that Mchenry is the right selection for Pedlar if we are doing a like for like replacement, but they may just want to get Jones in after his game last week. But yes will need to reshuffle if Jones does come in. Will be interesting to see which way they go.

I'm just hoping we won't need to roll out the "Oh no, we suck again" meme.
Showdown follow up - granted we have sucked

2022 - Won 2 showdowns for 1 loss (Bombers) R23 game for no result
2021 - Lost both and lost follow ups Eagles, Demons
2020 - Loss 1 game (Covid) lost to Suns

Nicks basically said McHenry today.
If Murphy has been good and Jones looked decent as sub, maybe there's hope for Ned too lol.

One thing that did stand out watching the SANFL game was how many development coaches we have now. Goldsack looked lonely in the Port coaching box in comparison.

Port haven’t got the money to invest in development coaches for the sanfl side…

they’ve given it all to Ken!…

kochie.. the gift that keeps on giving!..

Wasn't the Greatness Fund going to lead them to the promised land?

Sloane replaces Pedlar up forward with occasional run on ball.

Jones replaces Sloane on a wing.

Schoenberg replaces Berry on ball, but spends time up forward too with more players rotated through.
