Good to hear the care over Fog and Parnell

Berry either plays this week and misses next week or misses this week and plays next
I think likely Fog, Parnell, Pedlar, Berry & McAdam all come in for Carlton game... which is not a bad thing with a shorter turnaround.

Don’t think Nicks will want to make 5 changes, especially if we hope it’s a winning side.

Fog, Pedlar and McAdam are hopefully are certain starters but McAdam has missed 3 games.

Parnell only came in when Milera pulled out, doubt he plays.

Berrys form hasn’t been good, so if Schoenberg comes in and plays well, can’t see Berry replacing any of our mids.

Agree that Mchenry is the right selection for Pedlar if we are doing a like for like replacement, but they may just want to get Jones in after his game last week. But yes will need to reshuffle if Jones does come in. Will be interesting to see which way they go.
Don’t you ever say McHenry is like-for-like for Pedlar again

I don't want to see Ned play for us ever again. I would rather Cook or Nank.

I'm far from a Hately fan but he should be considered in front of Brown this week if only for the reason we need to see if he's got it as an inside misfielder or quickly move on. He's basically playing for his AFL career this season so you would think he'd go hard and give it all he's got. He's really not proven to be versatile at AFL level so it's midfield or bust for him IMO.
Neither Brown nor Hateley should be considered unless we have 20 on the injury list.

Jones and Pedlar play different roles, it’s McHenry for Pedlar. Given Jones can’t play midfield, if Berry misses, to keep Jones in the team they will need a reshuffle. So possibly Sloane to the middle and Jones wing.

But the less disruptive will be Schoenberg in, Jones sub. 2 weeks in a row as sub now isn’t the same as when it was medical sub, they can still give Jones decent game time. O’Brien has been Carlton’s sub for the first 3 games.
What about Sloane forward to take Pedlar spot ( but also to rotate thru inside mid at times ) and Jones to wing

Ned to sub ?

Don’t think it’s the most likely chance which is prob Pedlar out and Ned in and Chayce sub again but I’d prob go for the former

We should be looking to rotate players any way, particularly where we have shorter breaks.

This week...

Ins: Keane, Schoenberg, McHenry (sub)
Out: Butts (managed), Berry (injured), Pedlar (suspended)

B: Michalanney, Murray, Keane
HB: Milera, Doedee, Hinge
C: Jones, Dawson, Sholl
HF: Sloane, Walker, Keays
F: Gollant, Thilthorpe, Rankine
R: O'Brien, Rachele, Laird
I: Smith, Soligo, Schoenberg, Murphy
Sub: McHenry

Following game v Carlton

In: Fogarty, McAdam, Pedlar, Butts, Berry, Parnell
Out: Walker (managed), Gollant, Schoenberg, Keane, McHenry, Smith (managed)

B: Michalanney, Murray, Butts
HB: Parnell, Doedee, Hinge
C: Sloane, Dawson, Sholl
HF: Pedlar, Fogarty, Keays
F: McAdam Thilthorpe, Rankine
R: O'Brien, Rachele, Laird
I: Milera, Berry, Jones, Soligo
Sub: Murphy

Freo this week they have Taberner (198), Jackson (199) and Amiss (196).

If Butts isn't right is Nicks seriously going with Murray (194), Doedee (189) and Dawson (191), he can't be that dumb surely.

Has to bring in one of Keane (194), Borlase (192) or Himmelberg (199) as defender. Personally I would go Murray on Taberner, Himmelberg on Jackson and Doedee on Amiss with Michalanney on Walters

Like for like structure wise, not skill and talent wise. Obviously Pedlar is the better player but he is unavailable this week. If we want to keep the same structure we will likely bring McHenry in to replace Pedlar. If we want to reshuffle then likely Jones I'd say.

I kinda lean to if Burgess says he's fine, he's fine.

He's not playing that poorly at the moment. Mainly being hung out to dry by our defensive structures falling apart.
Murray not being hung out to dry as much?

I understand what you are saying but Ned can’t even play the role that Pedlar has been playing. He just doesn’t have it. Let’s try someone else to see if they can or move Sloane there for one week allowing Jones to start on the wing.

After watching Nick's it sounds like Butts is playing even though he didn't train this week and sounds injured, Berry won't play but probably back for Carlton, McHenry will be in for Pedlar. Schoenberg or Crouch in for Berry. Probably Crouch. Bit of a danger game this week. Hopefully Nick's gets the selection right.

I've got nothing for this, seeing Butts offensive game has also dropped this year.

I've mainly noticed I'm frustrated by other things, i.e. our lack of protecting leading lanes, or not killing a contested marking situation then I have been with Butts defensive efforts.
