Anyway I think this game could go either way... A close shoot out or a lions demolition. We play some good footy up at the Gabba these days and if it weren't for inaccuracy we may have upset north and we were a stretcher bearer short of defeating the Swans. Either way I'm expecting a hard fought game for at least the first half... A lot of pressure will be applied

Lions by at LEAST 60 points. At least.

Reckon it's for the best. Aish would have to deal with a hostile crowd and 22 blokes ripping into him, add in subpar form for.a bloke already low on confidence that would be a toxic environment.

Add in the fact Aish is lucky to have played a game this year the right call was made
He doesn't deserve a game on form and you may be right that the pressure in this one would have been too much to expect from him, but the handling of him has been appalling. He's clearly got no confidence, so they dropped him after the essendon game , held him over for a week not giving him a chance to regain confidence in the vfl, brought him back, gave him a whack in the media, which instigated the media giving him a much bigger whack. Then they dropped him again.

I honestly think that bucks has no idea about psychology and doesn't understand that most people don't possess his unshakable confidence. I think it's why we have players who have incredibly long periods of poor form.

He had been much barter than Aish.

He's been slightly better than Aish. But now with Adams in we'll have to play another slow inside mid on the flanks and get exposed even more.

No, he's been much better, but that's not hard when Aish is going missing for 3 quarters of football per game.

It's possible that they'll rotate Adams through defence like they did against Essendon.

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse.

The point was that concussion, being an impact injury, can't really be classified as more than bad luck rather than being attributed to the player being injury prone.
Sinclair has been prone to hamstring injuries, which he hasn't had a problem with this year so far, so to lump in a couple of concussions with that as an example of his injuries this year is just a bit unfair imo.
If he pings a hammy or two again this year I'll be right on board with your opinion.
Your argument is just purely pedantic for the sake of argument. As I said.. I don't care how he gets injured or what is stopping him from playing.. the point is it's been a common theme with him for 6 years now. Nothing unfair about that assessment.

No I was aware there was no personal attack.

I"m going to disagree with the entire board on Sinclair.

He's easily our most improved players this year and arguably one of the only defenders who tries his guts out. He also happens to be the only one that tries to fill holes and cover for his team mates.

I'm sorry, but the board is wrong on this one. Seedsman couldn't even run and bounce at the same time. I don't regret Seedsman's trade at all. Regardless of how well he plays for Adelaide, he wasn't going to play that well for US. Which I think is something that gets lost in the conversation of traded players.

Sometimes a player needs the change in environment to get the spark and the passion back, or just to remove the weight of expectation from their shoulders.

Mostly agree re: Sinclair. I think he's very much underrated on here. And Seedsman is going through the usual 'is no longer at Collingwood so therefore must be talked up' phase. People forget just how bad he was last year (ANZAC Day aside). It's clear he was stagnating and needed a change. If it works out for him, good luck to him. See also: Ben Kennedy.

Fair observation IMO. Cloke got dropped to make a statement to the team.

I believe he remains out because his work in the VFL does not warrant a promotion.

I'm suspecting that the club is in a bit of a pickle at the moment. They probably hoped that 2 weeks in the magoos would have Cloke firing, but he isn't giving them much reason for a recall. :) Ridiculous situation.

This will have a profound impact on Cloke's relationship with Buckley and the club.
The problem is that by doing this it is biting off our nose to spite our face.

We may not have beaten Carlton with Cloke playing, but we may have. I think the same applies this week with Brisbane.

So I guess, what Bucks has got to weigh up is, is it worth a win to prove a point to the playing group (and Cloke)?

Yep, good ins especially Varcoe & Adams - should help to provide a lot more run.

The back line doesn't fill me with enormous confidence though.

No, it's a bit of a worry.

Brown and Reid injured so can't do much about that. Brown should never have been dropped but getting injured in the seconds wasn't part of the plan. Reid "only" has a shoulder so at least it's not soft tissue again...

Frost and white will have to do the job., white was good last week and Frost us much maligned. Adams will probably play back too. And sinkers is underrated

I was keen to see Marsh given a go - reckon he has some leadership qualities we really lack in the back half at the moment.

You're not Baltimore Jack, No SPIN or Big Bryza or any of those guys. But I just think, that if you can't be up beat on game day, then when can you be? Even if they were struggling to grasp the gameplan or what have you, that doesn't excuse the lack of effort. Not understanding a gameplan doesn't prevent you from doing things like running, tackling, harassing.

At the VERY minimum, there is a disconnect somewhere between coach and players. At a minimum. Whatever it is, they need to sort that f**king shit out fast. Not for this year but for every year beyond this one. 2016 is gone now.

Travis Cloke is one such player that needs that. Cloke needs to be traded for the benefit of Travis Cloke as well as Collingwood. The fact that he can't even tear up the VFL is the only proof we should need of the fact that he's done with Collingwood. He needs a change in environment.
Seedsman was truly awful, dont know how some are still "bewildered" by the fact he was (rightfully) moved on

Maybe, the VFL team hasnt been setting the world on fire though so maybe he just doesnt have the form.
Only a week back from returning from injury, you'd assume they'd want to get a solid block of games in to him before stepping up to the seniors.

Let's hope White holds up without Reid there, not too many options after that, Howe, possibly Moore but looks pretty thin.

My concern too. Is Brown not playing again because of his performance 2 weeks ago against Kennedy?

Brisbane might not have good tall forwards but neither did Carlton and Casboult would have been a decent match up for Brown.

Probably right. Bringing Cloke back when he's not performing defeats the purpose of dropping him in the first place (IMO). It's a crap situation to be in. Our marquee forward floundering in the 2s... :(
