For the newbies, Out : Pearce is an old joke (Clancee Pearce days).

Funny how Walker is so under sung here.

He is just in his 3rd season, knows how to take the game on and has the pace to match the most dangerous small forwards in the game. He’s a valuable commodity.

He’s had a few clangers at times but who hasn’t in their first 50 games?
He used to have about a dozen a game. Now down to about two per game. He is electric and probably played his best ever game or close to it on the weekend. Got caught once that I recall in the last minute or so of the game, other than that beat Stengle 95% of his contests. He`s a keeper and will be back pocket in our premiership team. Lock him in.

I’m unsure if that’s good or bad for us, he’s been putrid from games I’ve seen.
He was good early but the last few weeks he has looked slow and cumbersome. He marked the ball late in the game against Port about 35metres out and the commentators said he will struggle to make the distance with a heavy ball. He put full effort into the kick and it went about 25metres. Made Liam Henry’s kicking look more akin to Malcolm Blight.

Watching him the last few weeks he looks like he has been running with those weighted ankle straps people exercise in. I agree that whether he plays or not isn’t a big issue.

Did we ever get a game with all three Pearces playing
yeah not sure how many but certain we might have had 10 or so, mainly in AP's first year where fish pub was a regular especially early and dpearce barely missed a game in those years.

He´s better than Tomlinson though :)

It's him spending 90% of the game on the field, with us having the bye the following week.

Melbourne now had to rotate a player through there and the bench, use other guys who can't cover as much ground as Hunter and Freo will try and run the game out harder knowing we don't need to pull up for another game in a week.

But will they appeal again with an overpriced QC?

He has a real habit of playing his best games against us so I am taking it as a pretty significant out.

Watch that if you haven't before. We want this guy getting as many games as possible

I don't know if it's just me but I feel like he's not taking the game on as much as he used to. His actual defensive work has been superb, but I can't really remember him taking it on and sprinting down the corridor like he used to do in his earlier games.

he is taking it on less but i think thats just a result of how much quicker and tighter AFL is. he was often getting caught and running himself into trouble, think hes learned from that and being a bit selective when takes the game on, hell grow in confidence imo and well see thoses dashes more and more

I agree but maybe that’s not his job in this team. i think the coaches want him to lay it off to Jordan or Youngy who kick the ball well and are nearly as quick..

From the game on the weekend, I did see him from the back half run straight up the middle few times and handballed to running players.

As some said he did used to take the game on in the deep half previously more and got caught, so perhaps playing more cautiously.

I do think it's been somewhat of a directive. I don't mind as long as it's working. And also I can only think of one time where I've seen him try and take it on and get caught htb this year, so it's probably working in our favour.
