Just realised we go to 15th if we lose this…
If we are indeed 15th Sunday night - it’s a shambles of a season in the cold light of day. Jlo would be very very lucky not to have more scrutiny on him in that case.
We should be winning Sunday though I reckon.
A Bottom 4 finish can’t be dressed up as anything other than abject failure if that is what transpires.

At this point of the season 15th can still make finals and it’s round 16 that’s a bit crazy. Like Carlton can win 5/8 games and make finals theoretically.

There’s a clear top 3, bottom 3, and the rest of the 12 are almost even

If we finish anywhere close to bottom 4 come seasons end, I would hope we would have the balls to get rid of JLo and go after Damien Hardwick.

Spot on. Some of our “easy win” games that we’ve lost have been so, so poor.

I don’t think we will finish bottom 4 for what it’s worth.
But if we fizzle out and lose say, 6 of our last 8 games, then we need to start demanding answers as a fanbase.
That would be unacceptable at most serious clubs given the talent at our disposal.

Even when we were down after the bye last year we weren't losing games that we should have won. That's the biggest issue. We should not have dropped that GWS or Richmond game. The other two were 50/50. Those two were unacceptable losses. We lose to Carlton on Sunday and that's another one. We can't be a serious team if we're not winning the games vs teams below us.

Damian Hardwick was on the verge of being sacked before they puffed him up with quality support. There us nothing that confirms that he is that good.

The performance against GWS was horrible but dropping that away game on an oval we haven’t performed well at (West Sydney as compared to Canberra), was not a big surprise. The form of GWS before and after that game has been very good.

The home losses against North, Richmond and WB are the concern for me, particularly the first two. WB midfield is much superior than ours. We can afford to drop a game or two at home but the North and Richmond do sting. We would be 9-6 and sitting in 7th.

The magnitude of losses against the following teams were also very bad.
WB -home
Adelaide -away
GWS -away

Regular bad starts are concerning as well as the drop off at the end especially composure as intensity picks up.

I think we’ll end up a few spots outside the 8 with around 11 wins and really rue those two home loses against North/Richmond.

An experienced additional assistant coach especially for the midfield group would be the way to go. We lost Josh Carr and replaced with no one just moved the chess board around with what we had. We have seen how well Port are going - Josh Carr pulling strings up on the coaches box and he is being strongly advocated for as new Richmond coach.

Geez they’re playing with fire if we have an inexperienced Johnson, Erasmus and Treacy again in the midfield.

JL saying Erasmus could be a straight in for Fyfe, which is fine in itself, but if Treacy has to be the main backup for Darcy because of Jackson’s injury, that’s a problem as we saw last week.
While I don’t disagree, this is a development year for us so it won’t be a huge problem if the young blokes are getting a first hand lesson In games (ie having their asses handed to them).

I’ll be upset if we are losing games like this in 2024-27

Worner or Wagner for Hughes is a possibility
Erasmus for Fyfe
Either Banfield or Sturt for sub
Switta (and Freddy for that matter) has been struggling and is named on extended bench.
