I watched Darcy Wilmott at Marvel last night, pick 16 in 2021, same draft as Raz and Jonno.
He was one of the best players on the park, full of energy and hard running and smart link up play.
I think he’s played about 7 games in his career so far but is a lock in the 22 of a supposed flag fancy.

If he was drafted by us, 100% certain he would not have played a game yet.

Fair enough. But we have dropped 2 games against sides tipped to finish way below us on the ladder. And our draw overall is tough. From that perspective things are pretty bleak - we have to reset our expectations. And it feels like we are treading a well-worn FFC path...

No, snark in isolation isnt against the rules it's just a shit way to talk to people and leads to threads going off track because funny enough, people often don't like having their comprehension questioned.

Take your comprehension for example, the snark I was questioning was being rude to Huskii when all he did was respond to your post with a question, nothing about Ross Lyon or your opinion on JL so it's a bit pot meets kettle there.

Look at WC lineup for this weekend
Playing all the old guy’s because they figure that provides them more chance of winning
If anyone should be playing more youth it’s them .

Keep in mind we are the 3rd youngest team in the comp , there are plenty of sub 50 game players getting a run

That's not quite true on our age. That number is probably the whole list. For 23 man teams, we are at the young end, but in Round 2 we were 14th for games and 11th for age. I posted a table somewhere in this thread. Sydney on the other hand were 10th for games and 16th for age. Indicating they are a younger side, yet more experienced in games. Perhaps pumping more games into their youth earlier.

North interestingly were 8th for games and 9th for age ... not the young side many suggest they are and far more experienced than we were. WC were 5th for games and 7th for age, and that's without Yeo and Naitanui. Their list profile sits amongst Richmond-Geelong-Collingwood-Brisbane-Melbourne and suggests they should be in the 8 and challenging for top 4. Not sure I see a finals team in them, but I won't be surprised if they finish above us on the ladder.

If we were to inject all of Erasmus, Johnson, Walker, Sturt, etc, that's when we move down towards 17th (only above Hawthorn) and with a significant gap between the bottom 2 and Adelaide. Fyfe back and it changes again. The club clearly do not want to position itself in a Hawthorn-esque situation for experience. I think they need to bite the bullet and continue (not re-start as some are saying, and not pause like I think we are in danger of doing) the rebuild.

Yeah it is man, you're gunna have to face it sooner or later.

Where is the improvement going to come from.

I'll tell you where it NEEDS to come from, the team selection process. We are losing these games on Thursday night, not Sunday afternoon.

But hey! You never know, maybe that area of improvement does arise at some point. But I guarantee by then it WILL be too late. Not admitting to that now is just delaying the inevitable.

So yeah, I'll say it again for the cheap seats. This season is a write off.

Teams as currently selected we are over a year younger and 30 games per player less experience than eagles. We are still young, so we shouldn’t be surprised that it’s taking time to gel.

last season we were 1win 1 loss at this point . The win by 1 point against Adelaide who finished 15th the year before .
This year we have 2 losses 1 by 1 point .
So we are talking about a 2 point turnaround , We need to find our form that is for sure but all is not lost.
