Changes round 4 VS Sydney

With respect guys, perhaps get the AFL game and let out some of that coaching creativity through it because some calls changes are just silly.

Sydney is 0-3 and hasn't been playing the best footy but they haven't exactly been Hawks-like in their fall. What we'll get is a pretty full on effort as they know 0-4 will pretty much write their season off.

To that mix you guys are suggesting some pretty big structural changes. Watson to HFF?? He has trained and played mostly, if not all, in the defensive flanker role. Has been great from all accounts with what sounds like increased confidence in himself and that role and now you just take him out and plonk him in the forward line and expect him to just turn his 'X-Factor' into something. Come on. He'd get killed out there. If not by his defender by JK or one of the other forwards as he got in their way.

Wellinghamn
/Nelson to the middle. Just like that? For a full game? Don't think they may struggle a bit to keep up?

Bring in Mutimer/Duggan and run them through the middle. Just like that?

I mean, by themselves all these suggestions have some merit (except maybe the Watson to HFF one).

But I just don't think you can make so many changes to your team/structure and hope to have any kind of cohesion. Not agaisnt Sydney. Not in the mood they'll be in.

Time to change a few things. Darling needs to be dropped for a couple weeks, seems also if you block Kennedy out of the game (he killing me also in DT) than our accuracy goes down the drain. Half back is also a major issue. I think we suffered since Pyke left the club which I think was the biggest loss for the club since Judd.

In: Sheed, Watson
Out: Jetta, Vardy

Jetta just isn't getting enough of the ball to impact on the game. He didn't do much on the weekend and seemed to spit the dummy with team mates. He got 13 possessions last time we played Sydney with little to no impact. I think there is still a future for him at the club, but not this week.

I think we need to go a bit shorter in our forward line, as the opposition half back line have been able to run the ball out of defence without too much effort, and we haven't been getting enough impact from a second ruck/fwd to justify their spot in the team. Darling/McGovern to provide some relief against Sinclair (who most swans fans don't ever want to see in the side again) or Cameron.

I can't go on Thursday so I have two seats available for anyone wanting to see the changes in actions. The seats are in Block 313, one is a few rows behind the other. Cost is $25 each. PM me if interested.

A good reasoned post, but to me the manner of last weeks loss was predictable and a well worn path for this squad. So while you are probably right in terms of meeting this weeks challenge, IMO we need to look at the bigger picture in terms of finding an outfit that can challenge teams on the big stage.

Classic example is Masten. A reasonable fortnight then right on cue he shits the bed. So predictable as he does it every time. So in my mind you f..k him right off now and even if you do lose a tiny bit in the short term - play the likes of Watson, Sheed, Mutimer, Partington, Cole and Duggan. Its the only way to improve.

I dont think he does know. It would be a usual fluff piece backing his team mates in.

I'm not sure how much you know about how these things work. Players don't just go into them without being briefed. If a senior player like Shuey makes equivocal statements about selection (which are then publicised by the club) I'd be very surprised if they don't prove true (unless there's an injury before then)

Watched this game at pres so I didn't really get to watch it properly. Also I can't be ****ed watching the replay.

Out: Giles, Hutchings redden, masten
In. Sheed, Duggan mutimer Scofield

I'm gonna give Jetta one more week in the hope of him getting up against his old mob

Im not really happy about duggans form but he seems to be finding a bit of the pill and has experience at this level. I want a bit more run this week and would love watto in but from what I have read and seen so far, he is probably not ready. It was a 50/50 between him and mutimer. Hutchings and redden weren't terrible but they are slow and very one dimensional. That's why I have added both sheed and mutimer as I believe both are flexible mids. In fact duggan can play on ball as well.

We have gone with an experienced side for the last three weeks and it hasn't really worked out well for us. Youth might just rejuvenate this side a bit.

I was reading an article by Gerald Healy(topic will be covered on the couch) and he was talking about how our side lacks run and flexibility. He touched on one dimensional players and how too tall we are. I agree with that. It's why I have left Giles out. Vardy probably provides more around the ground. I agree that JD's form is deplorable but no one at wafl level is ready to step up to his spot. Even when he is out of form he help Jk out with his leading and creaetes space for him. Lamb is just lazy and fmac is average at best.

I think darling and even schoey should compete well against Sinclair and offer better when the ball hits the deck. Imo it should help darlings confidence when he he is having bit of an impact in the middle of the ground. Schoey comes into the side as Flanker that can provide some rebound. But he could also be used on buddy if Barrass or Gov can't go with buddy. We can also use him in the ruck.

23-man lineup, interesting

There is no way Mcinnes or Lamb could replace Darling even at his lowest.

Sometimes a message needs to be sent even for a lower impact player ..It's like a my way or the highway situation Darling when he has brain fades or shits himself ,rewarding him with excuses sends a soft message ..
