Mayes to again show he is too good for the SANFL but not good enough for the AFL

Sam Mayes isn't the worst performer in our squad and I will bet he sees more of the ball than Todd Marshall. Then again I do not know what Duursma did wrong. X didn't have the greatest game but few of them did.

Ken showing he has no actual feel for the game and relies on stats.

Stats says being ball to ground in forward line stats says kick to same spot on kickout

Stats say they walked the ball out of the forward line to easy brings in Jake neade sorry McEntee and Mayes kicks goals ( when he comes in as a sub).

A feel for the game would have been probably play Hayes and a restructure but Kenny is Kenny.

Responding to losses by getting shorter and more vanilla.

Ken playing the hits, just like any other washed up artist on his farewell tour.

Thought you'd turned the corner when you admitted that playing talls for the sake of it doesn't work.

McEntee will give us the pressure up forward that we have been lacking playing three talls that don't have the presence of Dixon and therefore allow defenders to run off them with ease. Since Marshall and Finlayson were both well shit, you're always going to give the nod to the younger player who has been with the team for longer because he's got credits in the bank. Playing Hayes or Lycett up forward would have made the problem with zero accountability by our forwards even worse.

Our issue is that we're already cutting deep into our depth chart as it is when guys like Sinn, Finlayson and Duursma are being omitted and we are still missing Dixon, Aliir, Gray, Fantasia and Bergman, with Clurey still out injured. We're now looking at players 33+ on our list to make an impact - guys like Mead (2 games), McEntee (1 game) and Mayes (116 games). After that its Hayes (0 games), Dumont (113 games) and Frederick (8 games) who are emergencies along with Duursma...and then:

Williams (1 game)
Burgoyne (0 games)
Lord (0 games)
Visentini (0 games)
Pasini (0 games)
Jackson (0 games)
Schofield (0 games)
Farrell (still recovering from ACL - 33 games)

We're at the ****ing bottom of the barrel and it's three games into the season.

Going in tall last week really worked didn't it?
That's because we bomb it on their heads and treat bringing the ball to ground as the priority, rather than actually marking the bloody thing. Now we're just going to ask shorter people to do the same thing, and give the opposition a shit ton of marks as a result.

He was fooked! You could see it every challenge he went for, should never have played.

Would I be right in saying that because Marshall didn't touch the ball against Hawthorn, Ken could use that fact to suggest that he played a faultless game, and therefore deserves to be picked this week?

No probably about it. McKenzie could barely run in the first qtr and Duurs couldn't lift his arm above his shoulder but isn't a Michael Wilson level player to compensate for it
He (Duursma) was wincing in pain like peak Chris Judd 5 minutes into the game ffs

Should never have been picked

(Still offered more than Marshall with only one arm )
