Could always put Lester on Hogan
That’s an option. Lester has been given the job on Jeremy Cameron before and come out on top and I rate Cameron ahead of Hogan.

Maybe Prior to play tall but could also have a run on the wing if Payne gets through the game
I think you have to have faith that if you are selecting Payne in the first place he will see out the game. That is the approach I would take. Sub being McKenna, Reville or Brain depending on how we see each impacting the game.

Out: Payne, McKenna
In: Joyce, Reville (Robertson if Reville is not 100%).

If Payne is ‘marginal’ I would leave him out for Joyce and bank on winning and having him back and fully fit for the Preliminary Final. McKenna is terribly out of touch and I would swap him out for Reville without hesitation, if Reville is fit. If not, I would bring Dev Robertson in for McKenna and play him off the half back flank.
Bwooce had a very ordinary game in the VFL. Very.

Would be the goals without the second level behind it. Scoreboard exists there instead

I'm guessing Lions cheer squad sit on this side below the video board 241/242/244/245/246 etc... would that be correct?

That’s a shame. Do you think he was short of a run?

Thought about this but in the end having Joyce as the sub is a waste. He cant impact the game. If Payne's MCL can't last a full game then we shouldn't play him. I think it is that simple.

I am happy for Joyce to be named sub. He should have been the other day
Payne was always a risk coming back from a long time out of AFL.
Not necessarily getting injured but a possible issue running out the game.
Say Payne got to 3/4 time with no injury. We were 40 points up take Payne off on comes Joyce
The sub normally comes on early in the 4th quarter and generally you don't notice their game much.
Most don't have much impact on the game as a lot of people and commentators believe.
They should not make the same mistake again if Payne is selected.

It was/is the only insurance you can prepare for if you select him, otherwise it is a lottery on who may get injured.

Of course, no one is getting injured this week as we win and move onto the Cats.

That's the usual, but finals ticketing is in the AFL's hands so who knows. I'd say it's most likely but not guaranteed (unless anyone actually in the Giants or Lions cheer squads can confirm).

I'm of the view that if you were risking Payne, you'd have to go Jaxon Prior as the sub. Offers way more versatility than McKenna and whilst nothing like Payne as a player, could play closer like Payne than McKenna ever could. I think picking Joyce as sub is too risky in the event that a small went down; at least Prior can play both small and tall or would suit a re-shuffle moreso than Joyce.

dlanod

Do you know of any abandoned buildings or substations near the ground?
There's the brick pit, which is an abandoned hole in the ground. Otherwise you'll probably have to head to the back streets of Silverwater.

thanks, got my tickets for section 223. Will be there with my mate whose a Swans supporter so you might see a Swans jumper out there in the crowd.

I don't see it as risky at all naming Joyce as sub if Payne named. Riskier to not name him in my opinion.

Let me be clear if Payne does not play someone like Reville/Sharp should be sub as Joyce will be on the field.

That's purely going on numbers that favors a small getting injured/replaced over a tall every time an AFL side runs out to play.
We have 15 smalls, i include Berry in that category, with 7 talls, i include Morris & Lester in that group.
Most AFL sides have similar numbers.
That's more than twice the number of smalls to talls. So, the odds favor a small getting injured/replaced over a tall.
This is why most clubs name a small as sub.
However, if a tall gets injured that can cause big problems for any club.

Everyone in our side is fit and healthy bar Payne if selected and probably Hippy. This is a known fact before the game.
Why pick a small when no smalls showed signs in the Blues game of anything being wrong.
Then we have our ruck and lucky for us Big O has only had to be subbed off once so far this season.
He got concussed and played 30% TOG. We lost that game.
Oscar also got subbed off very early in the first quarter (3% TOG), in our 2-point Elimination Final win over the Tigers 2022.

Joyce really is terrible.

Joyce played 3 consecutive games with a broken jaw he got early in the Giants game to help out shows his commitment to the club
He is not terrible but borderline AFL quality in a good side.
We have quite a few players in the same boat. Dev, Prior, Fort, Sharp, Madden, Brain, Tunstill, Smith

His stats are pretty good but is prone to a few brain fades/clangers (CG). Without those he would be looked at differently.
He has improved greatly since arriving at the club in 2023.

His record is 4 wins v Demons, Eagles, Swans, Bombers and 2 losses to Pies and Giants, both we really should have beaten.
