Don't understand why Geelong want him out. It's not like their mids are sprung chickens. Surely he gets a game at the cats next year
I agree... he will get more games if he stays next year, but does he want to leave so he can get guarantee game time at a club where he thinks he will...

Not sure why Cats would let him go if he has the traits to be a top tier afl mid to be honest and the cats would know
2021 season

33- selwood
31 - Dangerfield
37 - Ablett
31 - Stevens
30- Duncan

I would have thought they would be trying to keep him

Its balance of need and list cycle imo. Others would not let him go ... i would for the right deal and the right player. The list profile you mention is fair and would more concerning if Guthrie and Menegola had not play well this year, Parfgitt and some younger players look reasonable but are not yet ready to be ..THE guy. It why we are probably interested in the likes of Crouch and 1 or 2 mature bodies.

To some degree I think our coach likes certain attributes, and I could see other on out list like Cooper Stephens who has more leg speed and stamina getting a shot before him. Yet there has not been a game where he stuggled to find the ball... I suspect in the right side he could become a ..how did he get away from geelong player..

Personally for me its a case of Stevens or Constable
I'm keeping Constable

Two completely different players. Charlie's problem is he can't play any other position other than inside mid, that's why he isn't getting games.

Also right now I bet Constable does not really feel wanted or valued by Geelong, and even if he starts playing more games it would be a difficult feeling to shake as nothing Geelong have done so far says they value him.

Ok then.... who is he going to replace in the current side after Selwood and Ablett has to come in?

Essentially this. At the right team with the right players around him I think he could be seriously good but he's a square peg In a round hole with us.

My bet is there would be players like that on every list, especially at clubs with settled sides.

I’ll start this post with I rate Constable and think he will play 150 afl games by the end of his career.
But!
Geelong do have a pretty good track record of letting young kids go who they think it won’t bite them in the arse.
Yes we have let a few go in the past that have been key last pieces of puzzles like Caddy, Simpkin, Vardy who have absolutely deserved the reward they have got.
But we have also let players like McCarthy, Motlop, Lang, Thurlow, Christensen go and lets be honest none have them have played up to their full potential or even close to how good we thought some of them could be.
All I’m saying is maybe Geelong might trade him as he hasn’t developed like we thought he would and yes partly because he hasn’t been selected to play.
All teams rate their kids one way or the other, maybe this is just another one of ours who we’re overrating. Myself included!
What do I think he would be worth? Well No point getting a 3rd rounder this year as it will be a pick around the 60’s so I would ask for a future 3rd or package him up with a pick of our own for a player and he can be the steak knives

Charlie would be a perfect fit for Essendon who are crying out for a young inside mid above 180cms to develop. Can't work out what he'd be worth, his exposed form has shown he's more than capable but given he can't get a run at Geelong they can't ask for too much.

CHARLIE CONSTABLE (GEEL)

Draft picks:
Third-round pick
Value on open market: $250,000-350,000

Looking for a new home but will need to see where the cards fall elsewhere. After seven games last year, the 21-year-old played just two this year with the Cats committing to Brandan Parfitt and Cam Guthrie as inside midfielders to partner Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood. With the Cats considering Shaun Higgins, a number of free agents and having last year's first-round pick Cooper Stephens up their sleeve, it's time for Constable to seek greater opportunities.

Everything stated is both true and painful to watch. Will be very good in the right team

I think he is good but with our mids and his lack of versatility he won't get games for 3 years so it is probably in his interests to move on as well as ours if we can get something for him that improves our 22 while we are in the window. I think his value is around late 2nd/early 3rd but we would rather trade him for a player of need than a pick.

Why? the hell anyone, would want to go to Essendon fc. But this kid would fit into the bomber's midfield. And definately get more opportunity.

Send him to Brisbane with witherden coming back the other way.

Brisbane would want more than that for Witherden and in any case i reckon CC wants a club where he can be best 22 and i dont see him being that at Brisbane.
