Thilthorpe played 21 of a possible 23 games this season. He played every game from round 11 through to the end of the season.

The time for you to stop talking s**t in this thread is now. No more warnings.

Thilthorpe has kicked 44 goals in 46 games as a young key forward. I’m not allowed to criticise that? It’s terrible for a highly touted ND pick 2.

What’s Thilthorpe done aside from kick 5 on debut? Numbers over first three seasons are very average for a key tall let alone a former pick 2.

Not when you compare them with those of similar age/experience.

Numbers don’t reflect his performance fairly either. He’s currently playing very low TOG and has limited opportunities behind Walker and Fogarty.

He’s athleticism, agility, cleanness at ground level, contested marking and ball use around the ground have all been consistently on show this last year.

As is always the case with young talls developing consistency is key, but he’s well on track.

Sounds like you’ve got Wayne Carey Mk2 on your hands. Better hold on to him 😉

thilthorpe will be a gun forward / ruck and probably the best player in the comp who can genuinely play both roles at a high level when he enters his prime. his contested marking is super impressive for a young key position player. adelaide would be nuts to trade him

Kicked a few bags in his first 3 years is pretty good for a young tall. He is still suited as the 5th midfielder with elite clearance by hand, strong contested mark around the ground and good kick on both feet.

Ok maybe in 23 years, like when Barassi left
Any chance they made other bad choices?

If they trade Oliver but draft 3 blokes as good or better will they still be cursed?

The clubs attitude going forward will dictate where they head, with Oliver or not.

I'm not saying this is good but it's not club destroying and if it does destroy them they we're in trouble already.

Mate, we don’t need a “fifth midfielder”. We need a key forward. Sorry but 44 goals in 46 games don’t cut the mustard.

By the end of the trade period. Oliver will be at the Crows and Melbourne will have pick 1.

How it reaches this point it will be anyone’s guess. Doedee compo and Gold Coast pick 4 will be involved.
Hope Melbourne would be giving up pick 1 for one of the Kings, in that case.

Throwing the book at 1, just to get Reid after offloading Oliver, would be another in the long line of dumb decisions the club has made post flag though.

I would probably do that I reckon. I think Thilthorpe will be a star but an opportunity like this doesn’t come up very often.

Pointless to trade out TT to bring in Oliver, as you then remove one piece of the puzzle to fit another one in. But there is then another piece missing.
