you need a brownlow medal to even be in the conversation for the better mids of your generation danny. without one oliver is not even clearing that threshold let alone entering all time great territory
The only reason Oliver hasnt got a brownlow is because he shares a midfield (and thus brownlow votes) with another one of the comps top 5 midfielders in Petracca.

Oliver is one of the best mids in the comp. Its just utterly ludicrous to try and debate that he’s not.

Why would Melbourne even contemplate weakening their side by trading him then

Scott Pendlebury in shambles

9 + F1 + 21 + McAdam

Maybe throw in 24 with 33 going back

Still unders but you couldn’t ask for much more if you were kicking him out.

Dees go and get Reid or GC pick 4 from there.
That seems about right.

Think Melbourne will definitely want to involve Gold Coast and West Coast in the deal to get up to one.

haha, are you for real? comparing Oliver to Jackson and Hogan? Oliver is on track to be the greatest demon ever. Hogan and Jackson are in the minor leagues compared to Oliver. Jackson we said could be generational. Oliver is. No-one in the history of the game can match him in the contest.

Reid plus 2 first rounders
Or if it's Adelaide, it's 3 first rounders with 2 in the top 10, one in the top 5. Otherwise, we can have the goat play for us for 7 more years :)
Greatest demon ever and yet your club can't decide if you want to ship him off.

No point getting mad at oppo fans. Get furious at your club. Absolutely bonkers!

How are Melbourne fans still defending their club? If Carlton were doing this with Sam Walsh or Charlie Curnow I would be livid. Especially when you're in a window.

Sort your shit out and support the player. He is an absolute gun!

Some of these bandwagon era are hilarious

“Can’t believe melb are acting like this”

Give me a break they haven’t even reacted. But if they did these blokes would be saying the exact same thing. Keyboard heroes.

Has to be more to this story than just unprofessionalism from an injury... I can not believe the Dees haven't already shut this down.

This guy was a big reason Melbourne started to be respected as a club.

Dees played better when he was out. With a shit forward line and team performing with him out doesn’t it make sense to test the market to rebalance the team?

Nah Melbourne were fully supportive and didn't give us any shit about the Grundy balls up

Think the Dee's know something that they're keeping to themselves.

Not many players are out for 12 weeks with a hammy. Big doubts his body will hold up for the duration of the contract.

This reminds me of the Treloar and Ben Brown situations.

There’s no walking it back if the board gives the green light to trade him tonight.

It’s a fire sale and Melbourne will be taking unders.

All time great??

Ridiculous claim.

One of the best players in the league at the moment but needs to continue this form for another 5/6 years as well as picking up both team and personal accolades to be considered an all time great.

Don’t agree with the better without him but it might be as simple as not seeing eye to eye and deciding to cut your losses. For mine this would only make sense if they were very keen on Reid and thought they could get him (plus sweeteners of course). Wouldn’t surprise to see the Dees with pick 1.
