do we have any vfl players that would be better suited to afl level/style of game and therfore perform better than they do in the VFL?

Tim Clarke was best? And is assistant coach? Now there's a bloke who butchers the ball every time.

Which is why Hawthorn delisted Clarke at the end of last season. Unfortunately, he seemed to be one of Coburg's better players.

It's the club's job to make him professional, which I would suggest is why he finds himself playing twos when he clearly has the talent to be an AFL regular, and a good one at that.
while the club should try make him into a professional it is up to him to change his own attitude. This comment makes excuses for his continual bull shit performances

The umpires ruin this competition imo everytime I watch it I cannot believe how ****ing shit these useless ***** are!

My thoughts exactly.

Shocking game, had thoughts of going but im glad I gave it a miss. Bowden should never have been dropped in the first place, should come straight back in.

Where was the Goo, Simmo and Pettifer today???

I saw the Goo in the stands, you could spot his ultra metro face from a mile away. Simmo and Pettifer are "injured" according to the club. Hopefully that just means they have been told that they won't get another game again and will retire. :)

Did steamer play in the 1's or the 2's? and how did he go?

Played in the 2's and kicked 2 goals, wasn't named in the bests. Gilligan kicked 4 and Raines even kicked 2 coming out of the backline. His papers are nearly well and truly stamped. Will be put up for trade you would think.

I must say, that was the least impressive debut coaching performance I've ever seen by Craig McRae.

1. Pre-match interview - Phil Cleary serves up the Dorothy Dixers and we got fumbling, non-descript, unconfident answers. He did say 'We're doing something a bit different regards ball movement' - our ball movement was terrible!

2. 3/4 time address - my 13-year old daughter's Netball coach was more animated, decisive, and inspiring. (They won, thanks for asking).

3. Got smashed on the scoreboard.

so the richmond tradition of turning forwards into backmen (putt and the goo) continued, despite us already having 4 in the seniors and post developing in the 2nds...great...
sometimes they play back, because there might be to many tall forward in the team for all of them to play in there at one time. or not enough key backmen. and i think putt only played back because there was no one tall enough to play on who ver he was playing on.

Adrian Ballantyne at the Herald Sun is a muppet. Making such a massive deal out of a VFL match. The first line is testimony of his idiocy.

"Senior players Joel Bowden, Mark Coughlan and Jordan McMahon were all part of the Coburg Tigers’ 45-point loss, while other AFL regulars Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, Jake King and Jay Schulz also played."

Does that say "regulars" or do I need my eyes tested?

king and schulz have been regulars, so he is right in that. but JON has never really stung games in a row together. but who really cares, it's not a massive mistake and only richmond supporters would be able to pick that out.

I think the reporter in question probably meant VFL because he couldn't possibly get something so wrong...or could he?? Just proves that you shouldn't believe everything you read. Imagine the news that gets printed where you do not know the actual facts and just assume they are right.

No positives....rubbish.

We can cut through the BS now and ask ourselves one simple question.
Which of the players playing today would make the Senior side a better team?
None of them!!

That entire Coburg side is what it is. A 2nd's side.
You can wrap them up in a bubble now, and keep the lot of them permanently away from the Senior side.

They are a very average group of players, playing at their maximum level.

Players like Liddle, Carnell and Horne are very solid footballers and are far ahead of many blokes on our list.

Absolutely atrocious game and if some of those individual performances are repeated too many times again, it's goodbye Punt Road.

Did anyone get down to see the Coburg 2's? Good to see Gilligan kick 4 and feature in the bests. Does anyone know how far away he might be from a Coburg seniors berth? Exciting prospect by the sound of it.

Seriously, you are such a sad person. When the sun is up and no clouds in the sky, is it blue for you? When a puppy dog comes up and wags his tail, do you growl and shoo him off? When a little new born cries do you run for the closest dummy. Why in 92.6% of your posts on this Tiger forum you have the constant need to be negative.

Its great to have an opinion, but why are you constantly putting down all things Richmond just for the sake of it. So sad.

Give him a break, he's just telling the truth. Sad thing here is 99% of time when discussing the truth about the Tigers, there's only negatives.

Hey lightning,
If we were playing like Geelong or St.Kilda, do you think I'd have anything to whinge about?

I've got St.Kilda mates who wrote letters to Grant Thomas and the previous coaches bagging the Coach, Players and the club! You think it's just me that WATCHED the Burgers today and thought that a Local side would have beaten them?

How old are you? 5?

If you think that was an AFL 2nd side today....you have NFI.
You wouldn't know promise if it bit you on your jaxsy.

Give it a break. Try having a reason for being positive just once in a while, and then I'll give you some for being negative about that Coburg side today.

Go look at your team poster on the wall and pleasure yourself.
Cause there was no pleasure at Port Melbourne today!

Richmond today is the puppy dog not wagging its tail but shitting on your shoes.

Coburgs game today had very little to offer except for Connors doing a few courageous things.

Unfortunately he just doesnt offer much in other departments anymore. McMahon doesnt look good enough to be playing Coburg.

I wonder if Gary Ayres coaching the opposition still feels the premiership in 4 years time.

Dean Putt was drafted as a forward/ruck so why is he playing CHB? Love the way he moves around for a bloke 202cm and he seems to read the play pretty well.
Andrew browne needs alot of work on centre bounce ruck technique. He jumps way too early and seems to worry too much about the opposition ruckman instead of just jumping at the footy.
Thomson needs to kick more. Good in and under but that seems about all he can do.
Jayden Post has got great hands. Would like to see him played at CHF/CHB instead of on a wing.
Jordan McMahon is a weak, selfish, useless little shit who should be sacked immediately.

And this is where I DID listen to Terry Wallace.

By Terry's Wallace's reckoning, in Pre-Season, the next 'great' ruckman at Richmond was going to be Angus.

Then just before Round 1, TW talks up Andrew Browne (AND PLAYS HIM!!) like he's the second coming.

Morale of the story: deliberate!! must be the ONLY IDIOT in the entire world to have Andrew Browne as their interchange ruckman in SuperCoach. FFS  (along with the other 8.34% of fools!)

I want to cry.
What a slow lump of John Ironmonger this guy is.
Would have been a star in Big Nick's time.

In our time...Useless...

extremely disappointed to see that with the certainty of AFL footy guaranteed for a good performance - not one player good manage a half decent performance.

draw a line through Connors, King, McMahon:thumbsdown:

schulz is extremely close to that fate as well

bloody play Putt at full forward, give hughes a game for the burgs also

very disappointing
