Collingwood Depth

This thread doesn't make sense. To compare a list of a teams 'depth', you need to go through all the players who are clearly in your best 22 players, and then look at the players whom are outside that to compare. Simply posting the injury list is not depth. Players on the injury list whom are best 22 shouldn't be included. Players currently in the senior side whom aren't best 22 but covering for injury should be.

Exactly. Our ressies have beaten both Cats and Pies ressies by 5 goals. Plus we just beat the Saints 2nds on the weekend who were previously undefeated. Doesnt that mean our depth is better?

Long way to go. Pies have very good depth. Cats have very good depth. Cats have a better top end. That puts Geelong ahead overall.

Friday will be a big test. If Collingwood win they will gain a lot. If Geelong lose they won't lose much. I think the only area Collingwood may have Geelong covered is up forward. Hawkins has a way to go, Mooney is just a player, Pods is looking good in wins, Johnson and Chapman are just guns and raffle the other position. If Geelong had a gun CHF they'd be unbeatable for the next 3 years.

I wouldn't go around stamping Cloke as replaceable... The fact of the matter is that we don't have a player of his hit up and marking ability in our squad at all.. If Cloke does a Roo we will slide.. Yes we have depth but our depth is in midfield and utilities, not KPP's. To say that Fraser or Leigh Brown could fill a whole as wide as the one cloke will leave if he's injured is both presumptuous and inaccurate.

He might not kick a bag every week but he is the linch pin of our structure set up.

Things that will hurt:

Jolly going out - forcing Fraser into the ruck again - changing the way we've done everything this year and not for the better... Ouch

Ball getting injured - he is vital to our performance and leads by example.

Presti doesn't come back - Last year we had one of the best defences... Its not by mistake that teams are still scoring close to 100 each game.. We are just outscoring them.

Heath Shaw/Johnson getting injured: The run and carry supplied by these players from half back is key to our run from defence. Usually when one is quiet the other steps it up. Harry has been great with his run but he often gets exposed and is not as threatening with his disposal.

Just my opinion, but while we have some sort of depth i don't think we are within our rights to shout about it, especially in may.
