Collingwood membership Numbers for 09 Target 50,000!

I got my legends membership card with the reserves seat about 2 weeks ago (I think, what year is it again?) along with a second lot of all the stickers; cards and a 2nd social club medallion. I'm not complaining but I know a lot of people who're seriously pissed off at having paid months ago ( and chose the monthly payment option and had the whole lot taken out at once, same as me) and got jack.

Anyone who has an esky and serious chutzpa should fill it with booze and sell cans next to the collingwood membership tent tomorrow. There'll be about 500 people queued up in need of refreshment.:p

Got an interesting suprise this week - I usually just buy a 'magpies nest' membership living up here in sydney. Only game I get to most years is the Homebush here and Its just easier to buy tickets than stuff around with an interstate membership + getting additional tickets for the missus + whoever

Anyway my pack arrived last week, no worries.. cool. Then I get a letter a few days later with a second '3 home game' membership that they are now throwing in with the magpies nest level.

Might have to rethink a trip to Melbourne for a game this year!

Hi all,
Justin Reeves here. I guess I am the "membership scum" or whatever I was called a couple of posts up.
to be absolutely clear, because I must admit there has been some confusion coming from people who just post stuff who just want to have a crack at the club.

Anyone who joined the cheer squad gets a reserved seat = yes, all got them before round 1.
We gave out cards with the general cheer squad rows/seats sp people can sit wherever they like in the cheer squad, this was done after talking and listening to cheer squad members.
Now after again listening, we have agreed that anyone who wants to have their own seat printed on the card can do simply by replying to a letter or email that i believe has been sent out.

But lets be clear, no-one missed out on their reserved seat.

If anyone has any differing views on this why dont you call or come and see me instead of posting messages that will get you no-where?

I think you will find from those cheer squad membes who have asked me, I will listen.

You know where to find me,

Justin Reeves

Justin posted this on Nicks, he is normally very responsive to discussions like this I have found. A few time we have had chats about threads when the Membership department have stuffed up and Justin responds and gets things done.... maybe not so much this year! But then again I am not allowed to take part in Nicks discussions and am on thin ice here so can't be bothered sticking my nose in.

So Pie eyed, how did that work out?

Well Snag.
No joy. We flew to Melbourne for the before mentioned "other function" and due to the fact I was not confident of simply "dropping in" on the Members tent I did not go to the game at all. I was initially very irate with not getting to see my Magnificent Pies in the flesh but after a copius amount of "complimentary distilled beverage" and seeing the result I calmed down a lot and then just went with th flow the rest of the weekend.
You may notice I took my Laptop and still managed to hear the game on Radio.

The big news is "hallelujah" I have finally received my Mebership card with the all important Membership No. and seating allocations for MCG and Telstra Home and away games. I am still sans my membership package though but, meh, when that comes it comes.

I have just paid for Anzac Day airfares and accomodation inc Harrison Room lunch and am now fully pumped and back on the "Collingwood are great in all things" bandwagon.:D:D

I dont think my brother has received his card yet, although he did pay on saturday.

Although i havent seen him for like 3 days so he may of actually got it and i dont know..

I signed up and paid at the tent before the Adelaide game. It still hasn't arrived in the mail. It's going to be interesting getting in tomorrow.
Did they say that you would be getting it this week? I didn't receieve my membership until about 2 or 3 weeks after I signed up and paid and didn't recieve the merchandise until about 6 weeks after. Unless they have said you'll be getting it this week I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get it for a little while.

How do you plan on getting in? Going to the tent and asking for a ticket?

Collingwood Breaks it's membership record with 42,589 member's as of the 4/04/09! last year Collingwood had 42,498 member's.

Well done to all collingwood fans! hopefully we can get all our member's to the game this week instead of of the 35,000 pie fans that went to the first 2 rounds (in round 1 6,000 were adelaide fans and in round 2 8,000 were melbourne fans).

I rejoined last night. A measly 3-gamer membership for each of us but it'll do until I can save enough for the full season for the family.
You should've waited till you got the $900 from the stimulus package. Then you could've bought a season's ticket for all the family :D

Oh, trust me, I'd been twisting my fingers together hoping for that one. Rudd's ruddy advisers suggest I'm 'too rich' to afford that  Yeah, well YOU try running yer own business and tell me how much money you actually make...

Actually, I wonder why Eddy didn't lobby the Rudd govt about that very issue. March 31. 50,000 target... MET!!! :)

Sorry, I didn't see you post until just then.

I went to the tent at gate five, and they sent me around the tent at gate one where they had a whole heap of tickets in envelopes waiting to be collected.

I was positive that when I joined before the Adelaide game that the guy said they would mail them out during the week. Luckily, I got to the G early, but I hope others didn't have to pay to get in when their tickets were waiting to be collected.

Apparently, they are sending out the membership packs in the mail in the next couple of weeks.

Just posted on the official website,

42, 589

as of April 4.

Christ, I was thinking 42k for the whole season, seems like we might push 47-48k now with the 3 game memberships obviously helping.

Matty Ed's come out and confirmed that the 3 game memberships aren't included in our total membership number - they're classified as non-ticketed memberships being the ones Hawthorn, Richmond and Essendon count toward their total membership number.
