We could even have done it this year with a bit of luck. Fraser playing instead of Richards,Buckley not getting re-injured in the last quarter,S. Johnson passing the medical with Collingwood. I am not making excuses,just pointing out that luck can play a big role.

I don't think ever I would have said we can't win in the next 5 years, and I have never heard of a 10-15 year plan lol.

Idk, Geelong were the big stand out honestly we werent near as good as them this year. I think it woulda been awesome to vs Geelong in the GF although id hate the Colliwobbles thing.

That's true, but C'wood developed dramatically as the year advanced. I don't see why we wouldn't be in serious contention every one of the next five years. I'd say 3 years at the latest.

I'd like to think that looking 5 years ahead that we'd win at least 1 GF, however footy is one of those things. We had a fantastic year in 07 despite long term injuries and suspensions to senior players, largely due to our young brigade who made the transition to AFL seamless.
That being said, next year will be the season that shapes our future. With the retirements of Bucks, Clement and Licca (albeit having played little throughout the season) and an ageing backline, it leaves a hole in our list, is now time for the boys to step up, fill this hole and lead us into the future (which i am confidant they will do).
It will be the players like JA, Stanners, Wellingham, Dick, Dawes and Reid to have solid pre-seasons and show their potential. Improvements from Daisy, Pendles, Goldsack, Clokey (to maintain his brilliant finals form), and Clarke (scary to think how good he'd be with more experience) will also be necessary to take CFC to the next level. The recruitment of Cam Wood may prove to be the last piece of the puzzle.
In 07 the Pies set up a great launching pad for future success, in 08 they need to continue to build on it and push for premiership glory in 09,10,11,12

We've been rather unlucky, in that this year we ran into a dominant Geelong side that won the GF by a record margin, and our previous two tilts we were stopped by one of the greatest AFL teams in history in the 01-03 Lions. Had we come up in a weaker year, we'd probably have a flag.

Having said that, they don't just hand the things out, and we've had some pretty serious deficiencies in our 22 that have yet to be fully addressed. Cameron Wood is a giant leap for Pie-kind in the right direction.

Our list includes the likes of Wakelin and Burns at 32/33, but then beyond that we don't have a player over 30 now. Our list, if developed properly, could emerge as a threat with a window spanning several seasons, and then it's up to us to take every chance.

I have been discussing premiership windows with mates and reckon Collingwood is @ 11am on MM premiership clock.

IMO a premiership can be won if you are between 11 am and 1pm.
We are definitely more than capable next year and it would not surprise me at all if we did something special next year.

Get on the bandwagon and enjoy the ride coz we are going to do special things next year!

No doubt but the more ability you have the less luck can be a decisive factor. This has been our problem over the decades. Bad luck has cost us because we haven’t been good to overcome it. The only solution is to stop blaming external events and get better. Externally at least, our club still blames others and makes excuses for too regularly.

I think we're in with a good chance from 2009 onwards. Next year we'd be doing pretty well to win it. I think we could be in the mix but we won't be flag favourites.

I have currently bet my dad that when Collingwood win a premiership he has to get a tattoo! (he doesnt have 1 yet)
At thet moment I'm not old enough to get one my self but in a few years I will be & I might even go get a tattoo with my dad...

I'm really confident we can do it soon, fingers crossed!!!
Then I can stick it to my friends who give me s**t about being a Collingwood supporter!
