Adams v Wines career stats, incredibly similar actually:

Taylor Adams and Oliver Wines AFL Stats Comparison lot

At this point (if it was this year’s draft) likely to go beyond pick 40 if we are still interested next year?

That was me… just wanted to check what they thought about it.

And hopefully get the proposal out there into the trade space as I really reckon it would be a great result (and fair).
I like it, but Sydney says no. It’s a lot to pay for Adams.

It’s really only pick 28 or so and a 5 pick slide back in the 30’s.

I reckon they are going all out for a flag next year and be fairly desperate to get him in.

Heck some on their board reckon they’d use 19 on him (if that get it for Stephens - which I don’t think they will)

I'm not sure they're going all out per se. They had the 4th youngest list (only Essendon, North and Hawthorn younger) this year and that's before Franklin and whoever else retires.

Yes Grundy and Adams would potentially rise them up that list but time is on Sydney's side. Sydney's history does suggest they'll do anything to stay near the back page which generally comes through either big signings or constant finals appearances.

He's requesting a trade. He's toured the facilities, clearly isn't a required player and it gives opportunity to youth. He probably wasn't thrilled by the cahoots of Ginni, either.
FFS man strop making shit up!!

Personally don’t want Wines.

Reckon Fin and Allan need the minutes
Wines would be a good like for like. Happy to give Macrae a good run at it but his initial output would definitely be a downgrade on Adams in a year we should be challenging.

I'd only let Adams go if we get a decent pick. And then see whether we can use that decent pick (+maybe a bit more) to try pry Tom Lynch out from a rebuilding Richmond.

Nah; you’re right. He’s a required player. I’m sure the pies have offered him a contract that matches Sydney’s.
WTF!!

This place, SuperCaoch season can't come quickly enough!!!!!

Hawthorn for Mitchell got #41, #50 and Cooper Stephens IIRC, so I’m not sure what that equates to as a single pick if we draw a line from Mitchell to Adams.

Difference is Hawks were looking to move Mitchell on and happy to salary dump. Adams is a required player still for us. No point moving him on unless we can get an adequate replacement.

They were looking to move him on, so on that basis he would come cheaper, but on the other hand they are still paying part of his salary so would expect better draft/player compensation.
