Good read, unfortunately l still have it ten years later.
People have know idea unless they have had it themselves
So sorry to hear that. I hope that your luck fighting it changes and changes soon.

The ignorance around CFS is still with us today. Apologies to those who find this topic boring, but I have met maybe close to 1,000 sufferers of CFS, who all tell similar tales of being told "It's all in your mind" ,'yeah, I get tired, too".

These people have no f...g idea of what people like yourself have to deal with.

This was endorsed by a recent encounter with a patient at work. I am a pharmacist by profession and work in a retail pharmacy. One day a man comes in wanting advice. 'My wife was diagnosed with CFS a year ago and my mother is giving her her a real hard time thinking she is faking it for attention". So I mention my struggles with the disease and offer to talk to the mother if she would like to come and see me.

A week later, the woman comes in and I run through my story and those of hundreds of other sufferers with her. I spent almost 1/2 an hour going through the topic with her.

About a month later, the son returns to the store, so I ask him how are things with his mother and his wife. 'Oh, my mother thinks you are a liar" , was the response.

I assume you could tell similar stories as the ignorance in some ways is as bad as the disease.

Once again good luck with fighting CFS. I would love to hear that you have won the battle.

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (pots) is another one of those ‘it’s in your mind’ issues that is horrible to live with.

In need of an intercepting defender that can play on talls, mediums & smalls alike. Courageous in the air and reads the play exceptionally well.

Would only need to travel an hour down the road to set up at the AIA centre!

Current club would want what's best for the player and with 14 other players qualifying for free agency in 2024 ..

Welcome to the Collingwood footy club >>> Jack Henry!

Would put a smile on my face

Geelong has 15 free agents next year thanks to their ageing list profile.

After his 2023 season was cut short by a serious foot injury, Jack Henry will be hoping to bounce back in 2024 and establish himself as one of the key players of the next Cats era.

They may have better players than Henry up for grabs like Tom Stewart, Cam Guthrie, Tom Hawkins and Mitch Duncan, the veterans surely aren’t going anywhere.

Henry is a versatile tall who would be an asset to all 18 clubs, though the Geelong local is playing alongside his brother at the Cats and you couldn’t see him uprooting.

Geelong: Jed Bews, Mitch Duncan, Cam Guthrie, Zach Guthrie, Tom Hawkins, Jack Henry, Jake Kolodjashnij, Mark O’Connor, Brandan Parfitt, Gary Rohan, Rhys Stanley, Tyson Stengle, Tom Stewart, Zach Tuohy

I would be genuinely nervous if I were a Dees supporter. They feel like they need a Collingwood 2021 type reset, but until they drop they’re every chance to compete again. From my perspective they’re in that pack of 8-10 clubs alongside us, the Dogs and the 5 interstaters I mentioned that the top 8 will come from. I excluded those two because in the context of us and top two they aren’t as important as the interstaters.

I think SR is bang on though the academy system needs adjusting. It only gets worse once Tasmania enters and fixes their talent pathways because one club having priority access to football heartland is going to last 10 minutes before it’s challenged. It’s not the ideal solution, but I’d change the Vic setup to align Coates league teams directly with AFL clubs then allow 1 pre-draft priority signing per year per club. Roll that out league wide and have all clubs adhere to the current NGA rules.

For a practical example it’s a s**t year for us if we were aligned to Oakleigh (the Knights has always made more sense to me 🤷‍♂️), but it would mean Smith next year. GC on the other hand get Walter, but miss Read, Rogers and Graham because they receive a bid pre 40. I bet under that system the clubs invest to grow the pathway and we aren’t left with drafts ending in the 50’s…
I think they just need to level the way you match so that you can't trade down multiple times to magic pick 18 into pick 2 if you've got a gun academy or F/S kid. I think it should involve future picks and first round picks have to be matched with points from your first round picks - so it might take you three years of first round picks to pay for Daicos/Mills/Walter.

Trying to give equal zones isn't doable I don't think.

How smug is Mitch Cleary… pushing the Geelong angle at all costs… move over mate, the pies are in the market for Bailey smith and we are 10x the proposition geelong will ever be!
I can see them cheating away with Cotton On paying half his wages, which is what I believe happened with Selwood. My understanding is that Cotton On was actually paying Selwood more than the Cats were. The whole 'plays for less' thing is a bit overdone. Dangerfield getting 2 x Fords each year (giving his old man one to drive around in). These things make a difference.

Geelong will need to start attracting youth. The elderly netted them one flag but that that will only last for so long. Hard to see them climbing back up next year.

I think you’re probably being fed some untruths there. Player sponsorships are heavily monitored by the AFL, particularly ones with direct club involvement like Cotton On. If it’s found a club sponsor is supplementing a players salary it counts as a cap breach and there are heavy penalties for it. It happened to Adelaide several years ago with Kurt Tippett iirc and they copped a huge fine and draft penalties.

Port allegedly have an abusive greyhound ring as a workaround for the cap.

Doesn't stop clubs from trying. Drugs are supposed to be heavily monitored but we see time after time again players caught red-handed. Let's not pretend that Joel Smith, Jack Ginnivan and Elijah Hollands are the only ones to be doing it.

2021 masks the underlying problems for Melbourne as they won the flag so there's recency bias that they're a good side. They underperformed in 2022 and 2023. Their attitude has to change and lose the engrained idea that it's a cut above the rest and can get away with it. Drugs, gambling (probably) and an undisciplined playing group (Clarry kicking in a wall etc) is not a recipe for success.

Players do recreational drugs without getting caught, so therefore clubs, who’s books are heavily scrutinised because of strict salary cap rules, cheat the cap without getting caught…

Ffs do you even listen to yourself?

To be fair, I don't think that's what he meant. I think he was trying to point out that lots of things are heavily scrutinised but a lot slip through the net.

I would be astonished if that account had any reliable info. It describes itself as “Ran by student sports journalist”.
Don’t see why it lacks credibility.

I’d imagine that Shultz Ginnivan and adams deals were all a long time in the making. Maybe it took until the last few days to bring the Ginni together but it would be outright irresponsibility if that was a sudden decision to trade a required player at the eleventh hour.

A simpler one is own farmland

Get paid a higher amount than market by a club booster for fattening livestock on your land

Very hard to track as long as you pay due tax

I am not sure whether young fella needs to start taking recreational drugs or stop. Or take more.
