They weren't alone. Being in and out of the side won't help their confidence. We were stoked to get Ollie and Fin, can't just throw them on the scrap heap now. Put games in to them, get them in the gym and wait.
Ginivan and Elliott take Henry’s spot unfortunately. Henry was stiff could of nailed down a spot but we know what happened. Fin hadn’t earned his spot yet

It’s a pointless circular discussion but Logue seems to get picked whenever he’s fit and available. He’s played 8 WAFL games 2018 to 2022 seasons inclusive afaik. All of which says he’s highly rated. I certainly rate him on the limited viewing of Freo games I get. Feel free to downplay that as much as you like. I’ll leave it there.

Not this season. Freo trialled Pearce, Cox and Logue in the same 22 and it was the wrong balance. When they dropped one of them it was Logue.

I think it’s a lose-lose for both Collingwood and Hoskin-Elliott to stay together beyond 2022. I think it’s foolish for us to reconstruct a 10-15 touch winger who will be 29 years old with no improvement left when we’re supposed to be rebuilding, and this will be Hoskin-Elliott‘s last chance to find himself a gig at a finals team where he can have a crack at a premiership. I think he’d be silly to tie himself to a side which (most likely) won’t give him the chance to go deep in finals again

I hope we can trade him for another third rounder or thereabouts

I think WHE’s contract extension will be announced before the end of the season.

Demoting after a poor game in round 9 is hardly the equivalent of throwing them on the scrap heap.

I’ll take your word for it. Seems they’ve gone back to playing all 3 last week and this. You’d think if they were dropping him though he’d play WAFL which doesn’t seem the case. Maybe more to it.

Will be considered - have to roll the dice and mix it up. Potential first or early second rounders for talls

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

Pointless chucking out second year first or second round picks just to replace them with more first or second round picks who will take exactly the same type to develop.

That says more about Hine and his selections.

Do people trust Hine to select quality talls? I don’t . I know ppl hated Rendell but for me he at least had the ability to select Decent talls. Did a very good job at Adelaide.

Yet people are already calling to get rid of Henry, who is a potential gun tall or tallish type we need.

We havent been in the position with early picks to grab many talls over the years as we have traded so many of them away but but that really wasn’t my point.

Exactly this, plus Cox replacing Begg means we get 100 minutes of Cameron/Cox playing key position. That didn’t happen while Begg was in the team playing ruck/bench.

Lewis and Kosi were not early picks.

Henry hopefully will be ok but won't be a, key position forward.

GW is going to have to work miracles to fix our spine.

Trading Henry and macrae won’t fix things or fast track the improvements needed . Which is the only point I was making, responding to a suggestion to do that so we can draft talls early in the rounds.

In fact you’re backing up my point by suggesting talls can be found later in the draft

Logue needs to be our no 1 target, very impressive player who is going to be available, we are apparently going for Hill again but Logue is much more what we need. We should have the cap space to sign him and re-sign Jamie and JDG if WHE and Sidebottom aren't contracted next year.

Trade currency will be our issue, I don't think we'll be trading our first (even for the very impressive Logue) and not getting much for WHE so not sure how we can make a trade happen, find a way to turn the 3rd rounders and WHE into a first? Maybe do something with a future 2nd? over to you GW!

The general consensus seems to be ire at the club for dropping Henry and concern that Geelong are going to lure him home. Who are these people calling to get rid of him?

Pretty sure that was a knee-jerk team selection melt.
No, pretty sure it was a typical bad call from a certain poster I won’t call out. But he has a poor track record.

After two years, a club should have a pretty decent idea. If they decide to cash someone in whilst they still have value - good on them. I don't think us supporters are in much of a position to judge though.
