It helps Dan is already a star in a position of need. Other than Naicos who is better than him? The injury risk also applies to the unknown draftee and we’ve already suffered on that front multiple times.
We have suffered paying overs for players at the trade table. Beams mental health issues Treloar the double hamstrings we never got value on the trade.

Collingwood’s issue for mine is not that draft picks have failed with injury as Freeman and Scharenberg would be 30 themselves next year.

It’s that we took a gamble in 2020 loading up with kids, Henry, Finn, Reef, Poulter, McMahon, McCreey, Ginivan and Chugg. 8 kids in one year is a lot to bring in, we lost Henry and Ginivan two who made the cut, Fin and Reef haven’t delivered, Poulter McMahon and Chugg all got cut and McCreey is the only one from that 8 that made it. The gamble in 2020 was that we could find some diamonds in the rough due to the season being cancelled and no top age form to judge off, it failed

If Rioli is worth more than pick 6 then what is Houston worth.

Yikes
That’s the wild thing about this trade period. A pretty average contracted player in Rioli who’s never been and will likely never be AA, is going to end up being significantly more expensive to trade for than current dual AA, also contracted, Houston. Just bizarre.

It’s not a conspiracy it is what has happened every time we have traded out our future first. It’s why we should be cautious

I know

But you seem to be implying it happens because we trade that pick

Given the absolute lottery nature of the draft versus trading for a known commodity, this comment is legitimately hilarious.
Yet it has never worked out for us. Also the issue I raised was we are paying too much for 13 and 29 if it means Noble and a first rounder when Rioli is supposed to be worth 6 and 23 on his own

In hindsight we should have tried to bundle some of those 2020 picks to move down the draft order. There wasn't really anyone better in that draft at those picks so we didn't really screw up the picks, only the trading.

In other words, we would have been better off trading away our first round pick(s) than taking them to the draft ...

Cox? McStay? Checkers?
Cox couldn't get a kick in an electric chair, McStay will have the biggest defender on him and Ceckers is undersized and will also have a big defender. Everyone else is undersized and sluggish.
god I wonder how we ever won a premiership with those guys playing for us and nick rebounding from half back kicking it to them...

Max Holmes over Fin, Ollie Lord over Liam McMahon

Sluggish?
Elliott, Hill, McCreery etc are sluggish?

Not been Cox’s biggest fan over the journey but you do realise they strap you into the electric chair? So nobody would kick in old sparky

All good to have a great half back, but when we rebound, who are we kicking it to?
Mihocek or McStay with Bobby, Elliot, Schultz and McCreery buzzing around the drop of the ball. More often than not Nick is already pushing forward too. If Titch or even Perryman can play some serious midfield minutes i like the idea of DeGoey deep forward alot. Jordy is a 50-60 goal a year FF if we had the luxury.
