I'd be looking at Josh Treacy, big bodied, confident and plenty of upside. 21yo 195cm 95kg. 54 games, 68 goals.
Plus, awesome nickname, Cyclone.

Yeah I can play this game too, Id be looking at Harley Reid, guy has talent and plenty of upside.

Treacy is arguably the best young key forward in the game. Complete package, old style CHF. Love him. Not a chance Freo let him go.

Treacy is another reminder that you don’t need early picks to get good talls. Just need a recruiting team who know how to spot them

Just got 10 coaches votes in the game against the Bombers
How many coaches votes in the previous 13 games? I rest my case, Reef 1.4 goals a game and less time on the ground, Sharman 1. If you're throwing the toys out of the cot over Zurhaar and pining for Sharman or Wil Brodie your standards are very low.

Was just thinking about KPFs. Yep they take time but if they work you hit pay dirt.
Hawks=down roughhead and buddy
Geelong =lucky with Hawkins f/s Cameron was a trade putting it here as they paid a fortune but exception
Blues 2 top picks.on curnow and McKay. Also kpd but weitering was no 1 pick
Dogs middling after flag = Ugle Hagan about to hit pay dirt in a massive way
Dees won a flag with makeshift fowardline but got van royan who will be good

My point= It is worth the investment. In using a 1st rounder on 1 or even draft 2 at once. Our weakness at recruiting imo. We either go for FAs or trial rookies or use ruckman. We are averse to using any draft capital on KPFs.
The return on high 2nd or 1 rounders on kpps is up there with mids. From pick 15 on a higher strike rate to a minimum be serviceable. As opposed to.midfield busts.
1st is gone but if there is a decent KPF left draft them. And develop while mcstay around. And go in next year with a high pick if the dads army strategy goes bust

He just turned 24yo, talls are a slow burn eg Amartey.
If ever you're going to look at a tall then it may as well be after they had time to develop.
Watch him play, not a key position player and carved up Essendon so wasn't really playing on anyone.

Spot on. Fremantle picked up both Treacy and Banfield in the 2021 Rookie draft. Both shape as 150+ game players.

Wasn’t Billy the pick (25) we gave up in trading concessions with GWS?

Got to say, you can grab great ones late but I’d still rather be picking at 6
We did it 2 years in a row.

Elliott and Ceglar.
Krak and Marty Clarke

They were the 4 players, but can't remember the pairings.

Would be an interesting one. Getting moved back and forward a lot and may just want to settle back. Relationship with Leppa and Fly. Get it done.

Yeah I was thinking should have a crack coz he’s keeps on being moved back and forth as well.

Offer good contract. Permanent backman position and good coin to see if we can pry him out of Tigerland.

Wouldn't be surprised if you at least tried to pick up denver grainer barrass from us at seasons end. Out of favour and stuck behind a strong defence, hasn't proven himself. Was a pick 6 and highly rated but hasn't put it together. A few injury issues lately also probably haven't helped. Imagine he'd be a cheap trade or DFA proposition

He’d be a DFA

I wouldn't say he's stuck behind a very strong defence. It's your area of need. You're supposedly making a huge offer for the same player type.

Let's be honest, Reef probably doesn't deserve a game. His form in both VFL and AFL has been pretty ordinary. It's up to Reef to finally grab a game by the throat

Both Reef and Ollie Henry were drafted, a few numbers apart, in 2020.

Reef’s first couple of years were impacted by injury, while Ollie’s form was up and down. Until a VFL game at Coburg in May 2022, when he kicked 7 goals.

That story didn’t have a happy ending for us, but the point is that Ollie showed he had ‘it’ and we all knew it (I know his current form is down at Geelong).

Reef, to my knowledge, has never had a game in the twos let alone the seniors, where he announced himself as a player.

If he’s being played out of position for four years - as many claim on here - then you have to ask why would the coaches do that? It can’t be four years of competing objectives, conspiring to prevent him from succeeding.
