If we had Stringer could we maybe play McStay back at times to support Darcy?
I would like to see how McStay and Checkers go in the forward line together, in an uninterrupted season.

I dont mind the idea of Stringer, as I think he can play forward and swap at times with JDG in short bursts through the middle.
Stringer may not be the most consistent player but he is capable of turning a game off his own boot.
I would find a spot for him, even if McCreery pushed up the ground a bit.

Can we settle on medium forward then? 🤣
If you’re that desperate to avoid the word tall, sure I guess. Either way, he’s still doesn’t play like a small though.

Maybe im coming from a NBA POV , which is fair might not be transferable. But gosh if i was a young forward or young mid looking at opportunties , Collingwood would be appealing to work with Naicos as a mid or receive lace out hit ups from him for 10 odd years. Likewise Fly as a pretty humble coach
A couple of those bullets across his body to McStay I think it was a few weeks back were bullshit. His skill makes you say “**** off” in a good way more than anyone

haha yes!!! Have absolutely resorted to that type of reply to what he does. GTFO another i use also!!

With the holes we have in age demographic, how is it not appealing.

not for the price he'd cost.
I suppose we don’t know yet what the cost would be. If will make us instantly better and has at least 4-5 years of good footy on him.

There’s talk the blues don’t want to part with this year’s 1st. So, unless he is happy to play for the Saints, maybe next year’s 1st and Richards may put us in the conversation.

You just never know. Could get him for a good price.

To be honest, get a grip. It isn't body shaming when its a professional athlete who clearly isn't getting the most out of themselves through a lack of discipline. It's simply commentary on that lack of discipline.
I remember the last time a high profile AFL player was publicly fat shamed

Port want in on this years 1st round, there is talk Carlton could trade next years 1st into this year, and offer that, plus some other picks
Saints obviously have pick 8

True that - but in Swanny's case, he wasn't really fat per se, and he was a hard trainer.

I wouldn't mind Stringer in the black and white, but I worry about a bloke who can't run 5k and says he had to learn how to run.

Swan, Clarry, Buddy. Some absolute stars haven't looked the fittest at times. I suspect they all had some other off field habits in common as well ...

I think Wil Parker is someone who could play wing.
He's not super quick (but quick enough), and he has good composure and skills.
He could be a Sidey style winger.
A full preseason should see him develop into at least a very good player.

We should play Ed as a mid.
Playing Parker on a wing is a great suggestion
The wing has become a very specialist position these days
And Sidey has played it so well over the years and he was never quick but had great footy smarts
Parker could easily fill that role pushing back In defence and helping out he is also a very good kick of the footy and would be very useful in transition
Allan is a mid fielder get in in the centre square and turn him into a big body clearance beast as he has all the tools to do it just needs time in there and some continuity

I honestly think midfield is our biggest need. We have shown to be creative in defending and generating scores in our fwd line with the personnel we had. The thing that cost us games where we had leads that lead to the 2 draws and losses and having our winning margins cut down significantly is the oppositions midfield taking over in the last quarter. How many times have we seen it just be Nick vs the entire opposition midfield in the last quarter, leading to our defense be under constant duress and our fwds lacking supply.
Revamp the midfield and the rest should look after itself from a strategic point of view .
