Option A. Witts for Carlisle.

2015 1st rd, Frost for Treloar.

Is Carlisle an upgrade on Frost?

**Option B. Witts to Bulldogs for 2015 1st rd.

2015 WB 1st rd, 2015 CW 3rd rd, 2016 CW 2nd rd for Treloar.

Then....

Seedsman and 2015 2nd rd for Aish.

*Kennedy traded for 2nd/3rd round pick 2015/2016.

*Oxley traded for 2nd/3rd round pick 2015/2016.

These picks then used to secure the above deals or others if required or taken to the draft.

Ruck back up via F/A or best available via draft.

*Both of these players may find opportunities limited with the drafting of Treloar and Aish and improvement from Scharenberg, Marsh and Maynard.

**With option B we've retained our first round selection to be used on the best key forward talent available however we may have to settle for using the Bulldogs selection instead.

We could use it to target another player also.

That's exactly what I see, can these people that see him being a star please tell us what he is really good at? Seems like a C grade Sidebotom or Murphy type and both of them kick more goals in their early years

You think he can be as good as sidebottom? He's no way near it
Yeah I worked out what you were trying to say eventually but really wanted to post that gif :D

FWIW I don't really rate Aish and think a player like him won't improve our list all that much. Second rounder is all I'd be willing to offer for him.

It's very apparent that one of our biggest list deficiencies are linking and line breaking players through the back half and middle. Line breaking can come from raw speed, footskills or gut running to the right places. I'm interested in the thoughts of DaVe86 Snoop Dog about whether Aish is a good list fit for this need?

I am probably of the view he isn't that player. I haven't seen that skill in him as a junior or Lions player. I think he's skilled, poised and efficient but he doesn't break lines with running or kicking. Don't get me wrong I like Aish but I would prefer Treloar and if not him I would be spending my money on key forward or defender. Pert mentioned recently they have 2 needs. I think one is Trelaor and the other is a key position player. What type probably depends on where they see Reid playing.

Suckling and or Yarran are players that could be available that would deliver the line breaking. He doesn't do it with run but like Reid he does it with his foot.

Yeah I know it wasn't really well set out, maybe you thought I was calling sidebottom a C grader lol I posted it from my phone so there are always typos and Terrible sentence structure etc

Sounds like yarran to me. When he's actually switched on that is

I'm no where near as knowledgeable about draftees as snoop or KM, but from what I have seen of Aish I see him more as an outside distributor than a wing or line breaking mid. I'm thinking along the lines of a Dal Santo or Gibbs type. Not quick, not inside, but can set the game up through good decisions and foot skills.

I don't see Aish reaching those levels, but I think he is a good player.

I don't think he I exactly what we need though.

I want an outside line breaker. There just aren't really any available, which is why I don't advocate trading Seedsman.

I also don't overly think we need Treloar, but he is a gun so happy to pay the price for him.

I wouldn't knock back Aish, but our midfield probably doesn't really improve dramatically with him in my opinion. I may be proven wrong long term though.

You watch a lot of opposition footy though, Aish has been in the system two years and I value your opinion.

I think with Treloar, while we do have a bit of depth at inside mid, it's a bit of a best available scenario. If he want's to come to us you just can't pass on a player of his quality. He is seriously good. I really do think Pendlebury would benefit from a partner in crime too.

I agree we need to keep a hold of Seedsman short term.

Aish sounds like he projects as a bit of a Sidebottom style player, with less positional scope. I think Aish would add a good linking player but when we already have a similar style player on our list we would really benefit from targeting a player that offers a point of difference to what we have for list balance. I think a linking player with speed such as Yarran fits our list needs far more.

With our forward line, I like the idea of Cloke at CHF, Reid deep and Moore as a floating player that pinches in the ruck. Grundy as a sole ruck as he adds so much more in terms of clearance work.

We really need a front and square crumber too. All of our tall, medium and small forwards are leading types. I can't remember the last time we drafted a crumber. Ugle or Bennell? Krakouer was the last one we traded for. I think Bucks has failed to value this role.

The time to get Stevie J was when he was offered to us and we turned him down based on the medical report, ankles I think.. Has he ever had a single ankle problem through all those premiership years?

Yep, about 10 years too late, our Docs said his ankles were shot and lucky to play another 3 years, was only going to cost us a pick in the 20s.
2nd biggest trading gaff in our history second only to knocking back Tony Lockett.

Do we win the 07 prelim and smash Port in the GF by 119 points if you take SJ out of Geelong and put him in our team?

Do we win 2011? Could have cost us 2 flags

And what a laugh it would have been having that character at the Pies :(

I always wonder that as well :(

Where are people getting the idea of Moore in the ruck from?

You can't just put people in the ruck because they're tall
He did some pinch hitting in TAC. It's something he could do in the future, but I'd be loathe to do it while he's still developing...

It's fine for him to do it in the TAC against some skin and bones 17 year old kid, he will be completely monstered at AFL level.

He will never be the type of player who is strong at wrestling in ruck contests, much more like a faster Nick Riewoldt who runs all day.

Does anyone else get the feeling that we will end up with nothing this trade/ FA period.
All this talk, and we get peanuts.

Not arguing with you there. As I said, I'd be loathe to do it while hes developing, and only want it done sparingly when his body matures. His old man was a great ruckman, so I wouldn't write his chances off of doing it completely.

Because he played a little bit there in the TAC Cup and U-18 Champs. Also he is 200cm

for he next 2-3 years would hate to see him in the ruck. till he has his dad size just no.
tac rucking who cares totally different. may be 3rd man up sum times but thats it, will get hurt if he rucks
