So Berg is a Hack and is Worth a 2nd Round IF Lucky and is a List Clogger because of Injury?
Where did I say he is a hack and a list clogger?

I think he is worth a first round pick but no one will give that up because at the age of 21 with a number of surgeries and 0 AFL games, it is a big price to pay.

He might become a gun and I want him to stay at Collingwood but he won't reach his full potential he had when we got him with pick 6. It's hard to reach your potential after you have had serious surgeries on both feet and a knee reco.

I would accept a top 15 pick for him if he requested a trade.

I can't remember any players who went onto become superstars after so many average VFL games, 7ft players excluded.

If we get Aish or a 1st round pick for Scharenberg we shouldn't start rioting.

Seems strange no one has tried to pry one loose. Long term contracts maybe? For some reason Gws always seems to be the subject of raids and GC goes overlooked.

GWS is considered to have a better list over the 44 squad, you will pry lose much greater talents from GWS then GC for similar price.

GC better talents like Lynch, Dixon, Swallow, Bennell, McKenzie, Omeara, Martin are either GC locals, loyal to the GC cause or from SA/WA and if they were to leave would be to go home.

Peter Wright might be one to look at as a partner in crime to Darcy Moore. 200cm fwd come ruck Tippett mould and is from Vic.

Well nay been 2 years so I don’t think he has lost that much Currency. He is not a Top 7 Pick but I can see a Team Handing over a Pick in the 10-20 Range for Scharnberg.

So Freeman and Schranberg will never live up to Expectations and That will hold us back a few seasons in our Chase for a Flag.

I am not Writing them off yet

Question... What's your opinion on say Patton? And potential for trading for him. In my eyes he is of equal risk as Shaz.

I am not 100% sold on him after 2 ACL’s. Would Worry me a Bit.

Patton not going anywhere. Would of gone last year before the Boyd trade happened. He was Dogs 1st Choice

I'm starting to get a bit cold on Danger.

I agree we need to stock up with at least one midfield gun (Treloar?), but we seriously need to address our forward line ailments.

Jesse White has not turned out to be the recruit we hoped he would be. Moore needs several years before he can take the load, he needs to put on a stack of muscle in addition to developing his game. We need to take advantage of the fact that we only have Cloke for a few more years at his prime. Moore should be viewed as a post-Cloke key forward, but he's not our current solution.

Priorities change throughout the season. At the beginning of the year we were probably confident a Cloke-White combo would work, but it hasn't. Elliott dropping form has also resulted in a lack of crumbers, forward line pressure, allowing teams to easily escape and score at the other end in transition.

Thus, I think we should seriously consider Dixon (price is prohibitive, but he is a ready made forward that can slot right in, he is a perfect fit for us) and Motlop - another crumber up forward that can break through the packs, and apply pressure.

I met with Damien barret today for a school project. He said that we are confident we will get treloar and he says he thinks we will. But he said we could still pounce on danger.

This off season is going to be bigger and better for us Collingwood supporters then the previous off season, and the one before that, and the one before that. Massive.

Talk is that other clubs are, well I wouldn't say circling, I'd say a better description would be coming in late, one club has offered Treloar's partner a lucrative PR job. That would have to be Carlton wouldn't it?

It means nothing coming from him... but it strangely excites me.

Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Treloar, Swan, Adams, Sidebottom....:rainbow:

Wonder which one out of Pendlebury or Sidebottom would leave as a free agent next year because we couldn't afford them.

I don't think we have the money for Danger and Treloar, it's one or the other

Danger will be a bit more out of the cap but if Adelaide matches the offer we can throw up Schazz if he really wants to go home and Ben Ken for steak knives and 2 Sth Aussies go home and one big Vic returns to the home of football

A seven year deal as opposed to a five year deal is likely not much incentive to an elite 21 year old player who should be entering his prime after 5 years.

At age 26 with a larger cap he could easily negotiate a better deal than what he was worth on signing.
That was my initial reaction too. Hard to understand why the Tigers and Roos think that a 7 year contract would be more appealing...
